I have no confidence in local police reporting on crime.

Police brass have been repeatedly caught lying about and fabricating crime data.

The real crime rate is obviously much higher than the police claim.

How about before each shift, they are mandated to watch 5 minutes from one of the literally hundreds of videos of cops doing something stupid, using excessive violence etc and being told "DO YOUR JOB BUT DON'T BE LIKE THIS AXEHANDLE?" (euphemism swapped for something with a hole)

I am so sick and tired of the false binary that some people keep wanting to put out there. We WANT police out there doing their jobs, but their jobs do not need to include being abusive jerks (and occasionally as much of a danger to the community as the criminals). This "wah, we can't do our jobs" stuff is complete BS.

From everything I've seen this is absolutely true. That other poster can post drooling babble like "slurp up what the algorithm feeds you" but it is absolutely true that police have a serious image problem and just shrugging it off and blaming "algorithms" or pointing to some stale old "Defund the Police" stuff isn't going to somehow make it go away. Do better.
