| Dana Edwards said that only one vendor submitted a bid for the boundary study RFP. The board will vote on the recommendation on Nov. 21st. |
If you grew up here yes, if you overpaid for your house, townhouse or condo, no. |
Oh honey, these are children of rich parents, the oppor ones live on the other side of the tracks (literally). |
It is the closest school, it will pull from them first, then surrounding areas. |
What do you mean "first"? All of the pulling will happen at the same time. |
I think PP means the White kids should get what they want and the Brown kids should get whatever is left over. |
In terms of the eventual Woodward walk zone, yes. But for the bus riders, it's anyone's guess. |
And is that one vendor WXY? |
This. My kid (W pyramid) was offered TKPK middle magnet. We declined. Not anywhere close to worth it for the travel. And yes, we know kids in that magnet, we know what they get from it. Still not worth it. |
It may not be worth it for you, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it for others. |
Not worth it for the rest of MCPS students who could benefit from the huge amount of funding the magnets and associated transport sucks up. All that money channelled to a small percentage of students when it could be used for betterment of all. |
Please share the documentation of this amount. |
Why? Spoiler alert. Bussing kids all over the county costs money. Money that could be better spent improving all schools, benefitting all kids. Did you think the buses, drivers, gas were all free? That the administrators who run the admissions were volunteers? |
Walking distance to Einstein should go to Einstein. No reason for taxpayers to bus kids far away when they can walk. It's waste of money. |
Shift a portion of Einstein to BCC to make space for all walkers who are in walking distance. First pririty shold be to not bus kids and waste tax payers money when it's not needed. |
