Vance on tape bashing childless teachers, says they "brainwash & destroy the minds of children". What is wrong with him?

He’s basically a hick gentile version of Stephen Miller.

Yes! Spot on, PP.

"I hate to be so personal about this, but there are people without kids who want to brainwash the minds of our children. That really disorients me, that really disturbs me. Randi Weingarten, who's the head of the most powerful teachers' union in the country, she doesn't have a single child. If she wants to brainwash and destroy the minds of children, she should have some of her own, and leave ours the hell alone."

Wtf? Why is he so obsessed with judging people based on their ability to breed. You can be a teacher without being a parent because your job is to teach/lead not parent. You do however have to have empathy and be a human to teach. Not sure JD Vance would make the cut.

Also, didn't Vance recently convert to Catholicism (from atheism)? Aren't there childless teachers in catholic schools pretty regularly (nuns, priests, etc.) who don't have kids?

Is his political strategy now to piss off childless teachers as well as women and cat owners?

This is what immediately came to mind when I read the headline. There is absolutely nothing this imbecile says that even makes sense when he's essentially shooting himself with these quotes. A lot of the loudmouths on his side are childless, so they shouldn't be allowed to vote or teach.

Just 2 yrs of experience in the Senate and he keeps sharing fringe reactionary views.

And the cherry on top is his complete lack of charm.

Because a pos racist pig named Peter Thiel is Vance's sugardaddy and he probably promised to be Trump's sugardaddy, too, if he puts Thiel's little piglet on the ticket.

Vance is a prejudiced weirdo with an unnatural obsession about women needing to breed to be considered legitimate.

This makes sense - I’ve thought from the get go he is a self-loathing closeted homosexual. So he directs that outward.

He’s worse than weird, he’s dangerous. He needs to go crawl back to his couch and stay there.

What a mess Trump's pick has been. Trump is so crazy he needed someone stable and mainstream to balance him out. Everyone said no except Vance, so he got stuck with the VP candidate Trump deserved: charmless, Aunt Lydia type conservative whack job who can't connect to any Americans.

So he's basically Mike Pence without the charm. Well done, MAGA.

I mean teachers were never going to vote for Trump anyway, but the thing with teachers, even those without kids and many many people who love them and they have touched many lives. So hopefully this weighs a few hearts and minds over to Harris

He hates that no women would give his creepy ass the time of day until he was a late 20s law student and had to be set up with a girlfriend by his professors. If he is in fact a closeted or repressed gay man, he hates himself for not being attracted to women. He needs a shrink. It’s actually really sad this damaged middle aged man is exposing how mentally unwell he is to the world as a public official.

Spot on.

So, he's a Trump brother from another mother.

I'm not defending him, because I haven't followed this, but I will say I now have an awareness about and am deeply invested in child-related issues since having a kid. A lot of these issues like education policy, school funding, school choice, paid maternity leave, health care, college tuition, etc., I was vaguely aware of before, but now I'm digging into the details.

He hates himself and so he runs away from himself and hates everyone who superficially reminds him of himself because he refuses to pinpoint what exactly about himself is the problem. He only shows respect and admiration for people with trapping of success and power to tell him he's better than he is, and only people who can exploit him (Chua, Thiel, Trump) will do that.

Ugh..he's deplorable white trash.

Can you criticize a person without being a disgusting classist racist?

Trump should have picked a woman with appeal, like Haley or is it Nancy Mace? He would have doubled his odds right then and there, because she would appeal to Independents, many people would compare her favorably to Kamala, and people would feel comfortable with her stepping in to the presidential role if needed. kamala picked well (her VP compares favorably to Trump), Trump picked poorly. What a misfire.

That’s hilarious that robotic Pence is being held up as a paradigm of charm in comparison with Trump.

There’s also a certain irony in that when my grandmother taught, they often didn’t allow married teachers (because they were too likely to get pregnant). My grandmother got married in the fall because she figured she’d get one more year of teaching in — they couldn’t fire her once school had started. So, for someone that likes to look to our nation’s history, he’s missed the mark on this one.

I think he is a bit of an idiot. I'm always surprised people like him and DeSantis went to Yale. Or is Yale a school for men-idiots? There are things to criticize about her that have nothing to do with her not having children, her sexuality...Why not focus on the positions he had an issue with?

I can recall my 4th and 6th grade teachers, whom I now in hindsight know were extremely liberal, defending Bill Clinton when my own mother and father were aghast and shocked by his behavior, for something I didn’t even understand at the time. But Ms Davis (single and childless, btw) had a framed portrait of Clinton on her desk. Creepy AF in retrospect.

So I think Vance is onto something.

But what OK is doing with their "Bibles in every school" is not brainwashing at all, nope. That's just called being a "real" American.
