I know all you moderates are truly convinced you’re the smartest, most rational people ever, but you’re slowly boiling to death in a fire started by the GOP and you’re mad at the people noticing it’s getting hot. You’re not rational, you’re not moderate.

I could go on, but you “common sense” people are over sensitive and under thinking.

Haha. I also think people who throw the terms “left wing” and “progressive” as insults truly no idea what those terms originally means.

Left wing stems from the fact that those who use to represent interests of the labor class sat on ten left hand spire of the room. Progressive just means a desire for progressive in positive change.

I am proudly a progressive left winger and hope the D party doesn’t die a slow death of “being moderate” (ie fraction of the party that thinks we are all good and no change needed).

Democrats have abandoned labor and support the desires of the laptop class.

You will have literally nothing to back this up with. Meanwhile the GOP actually hates labor and the working class, really anything that gives regular people any rights at all, they’re opposed to it.

You can’t be pro-labor and support open borders. Open borders are a disaster for the working classes.

Nobody supports open borders. This is just GOP fiction.

There is a lot of room in the democratic tent for people who are pro-choice and don't want crazy running the country.

I would argue that Biden is much closer to Reagan than most of the current GOP.

What about a pro life democrat. Is there room for them?

Of course there is. Senator Bob Casey is a pro-life Democrat.

He will be driven out of the party like Zell Miller in one, two, three…

I'm certain some dems are pro-life but just aren't into forcing their values on others like the MAGAs.

The fact that Donald Trump was the republican nominee after being caught on camera bragging about sexually assaulting women in his previous election and is once again the nominee after the events of January 6th has completely destroyed my faith in every current republican politician. They have well and truly sold their souls. If they clean house in a few years I’ll consider voting for a republican again then.

+1000 Not to mention his rape conviction or the felonies related to covering up his affair with the porn star. He's such a tawdry piece of work.

Being "center" is such an easy cop out. Literally name a time when the center didn't just "Both sides." If both sides have been wrong since 1776 and you still can't define yourself with either party, maybe your view is just, you know, unpopular. Most Americans are represented by either party.

Actually, it is people like you who I fear the most. You can’t imagine that anyone may have issues that straddle the two parties???

No, it's just I think people need to grow up and learn that a NATIONAL PARTY with 2 options is not going to represent every little thing you want. Learn to compromise a little.

The fact that gaza protesters at Columbia aren't republicans doesn't mean they're Democratic powerbrokers.

The mainstream of today's Democratic party are basically Reagan Republicans. Tough on crime, include middle-class in tax cuts, reduce federal headcount, spend heavily on military and it relies heavily on the backing of pretty much all major business except the oil industry. But the democratic party also refuses to take any steps on climate change.

They're so MILD it's insane. I can't stand what sticks in the mud they are, but an administration that would historically be considered right of center and business-as-usual would be a relief these days.

+1. We can’t even get single-payer healthcare and people think Democrats are too extreme?

What I've learned over time is moderate Republicans expect the DNC to basically be the Republican Party for the RNC nutjobs. Anytime the Democrats do something left of center, people get up in arms about how far left the party is as if we need to be some fully centrist party that never shifts in policy agenda. I don't know why the democrats have kowtowed to being a centrist group that hates its progressive wing and tries to court with people interested in reaganomics, but that's what they do.

A large percentage of Americans want universal Healthcare. It’s not a far left position in itself but is somehow only backed by far left people most Americans do not like.

Yes that is what everyone is saying. The democrats have been taken over by the moderates. Why do you think no action has been taken on the judiciary committee? Moderates will play the fiddle when the country burns down around them.

Pretty sure the "moderates" are not the cause of our political dysfunction
