What happened to the Moderate Dem or Rep??

Anonymous
As a moderate Rep who truly despises extreme left ideologies just as much as extreme right ideologies I am the one who feels hopeless with the ever-dividing extremism our society has evolved to, and you can blame the Democrats just as much as the Republicans. Both are equally to blame.

24 hour news cycle ruined this country. Social media doesn't help either, but the news cycle is a killer. Politicians now are presented or present themselves as "stars" as they appear too much when they should have their heads down and working for the people. Technology, while it has its advantages, has also created many of the messes that now exist. The toothpaste is out of the tube though at this point.

You are not alone.

I'm a moderate independent who used to consider herself a Democrat-leaning. I haven't liked what I've been seeing for years. I think the internet, particularly the over reliance on text/email/social media for personal communication, has contributed to the devolution of civil society and the manipulation of our collective minds.

Biden is a left of center president. Schumer and Jeffries are left of center democrats. None of the three - the Dmeocratic leadership, are "progressives"

There is a lot of room in the democratic tent for people who are pro-choice and don't want crazy running the country.

I would argue that Biden is much closer to Reagan than most of the current GOP.

Both sides, you guys.

I know all you moderates are truly convinced you’re the smartest, most rational people ever, but you’re slowly boiling to death in a fire started by the GOP and you’re mad at the people noticing it’s getting hot. You’re not rational, you’re not moderate.

I could go on, but you “common sense” people are over sensitive and under thinking.

OP here - I was following a post by someone who said he'd vote for Manchin in a heartbeat. So I was curious and went here to learn more about him: https://www.manchin.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/manchin-registers-as-independent

I love his quote “However, since becoming a United States Senator in 2010, I have seen both the Democrat and Republican parties leave West Virginia and our country behind for partisan extremism while jeopardizing our democracy. Today, our national politics are broken and neither party is willing to compromise to find common ground. To stay true to myself and remain committed to put country before party, I have decided to register as an independent with no party affiliation and continue to fight for America’s sensible majority.”

I feel like this is the majority of Americans today.

Dp. From my perspective, Biden’s border policies and changes to Title IX are too far left to be considered centrist.

Well - Biden is out. Now is the time for the Dems to pull their heads out of you-know-where and put forth a viable Moderate Dem nominee!!! Maybe Joe Manchin?? He was a Dem but just this year registered at Independent....get him on board! I'm a moderate Republican but would vote for Manchin is a heartbeat. Heck, I can see it now...keep "Joe" alive slogan!
