No, you don’t speak for all Catholics (nor do you get to decide who is a true Catholic). Maybe you should reread Luke 18:9–14. Jesus warned about people like you. It’s actually the perfect metaphor for Trump Catholics. Washington DC area Trump Catholics do not speak for all Catholics. A lot of Catholics here (with exception of churches like Holy Trinity) believe that it’s okay to cage children, to turn immigrants away, to have affairs with P0rN stars and then lie about it, to neglect our poor and elderly, to use the Bible as a prop holding it upside down while gassing peaceful protestors, and selling Bibles as a blasphemous political prop like they were a cheap Trump steak or NFT of Trump dressed like Superman. We are from the Northeast where Catholics still believe in Jesus and his teachings to care for others. So do the Jesuits and the Pope himself. It’s sad that so many area churches have become so political and have turned their back on the teachings of Jesus.


Jesus would not want you to be judging others in this way. It is His responsibility to determine whether someone has turned their back on His teachings.


There is plenty of biblical support for holding followers of Jesus accountable. Weird that a self proclaimed “true” Catholic doesn’t know this. It doesn’t take a biblical scholar to realize Trump is the antithesis of all of Christianity. But here you go.

Matthew 18:15-17 ESV

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Paul in 1 Corinthians 5:9-12 says this:

9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[a] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?

Paul clearly is stating that we don’t judge outsiders but as for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ we do indeed judge them – or more appropriately, hold them accountable to the teachings of Christ.

Biden literally goes to Catholic Mass every Sunday. And he’s a good and decent person. Trump is an immoral conman and yet so-called Christians think he’s their savior. It’s grotesque.

Yes, exactly! I am not a Christian and cannot understand why they support Trump. He cheated on multiple spouses, is a liar, has said various recorded disgusting things about women, is a rapist, etc, yet…Christians support him? Why?

I am so upset over this election that it is taking all my self control not to just type out what suddenly occurred to me about what is familiar and comforting about Trump and his team to the Catholics. I’ll see myself out now.

Hindus neither convert others nor can be converted. And in the Hindu belief system, everyone is a Hindu. If you have a soul, you are Hindu. Every living thing is Hindu. His wife is a brilliant woman and has the Indian values. She is not so dumb as to say anything that will be triggering to any voter. Her faith is her business.


I agree it is her business. But Hindus can and do convert, sometimes absolutely, sometimes with interior reservations.

This is not Catholic teaching. And you have no idea whether or not the pre-conversion marriage was subsequently convalidated (“blessed”) by the Church.

This is not Catholic teaching. And you have no idea whether or not the pre-conversion marriage was subsequently convalidated (“blessed”) by the Church.


They are not married in the Catholic church and she has not converted and they have not received a dispensation to marry in the Catholic church, hence they are living in sin.

I don't care if they live in sin, i'm just saying they are.

Just like divorced and remarried people and gay people. Living in sin, according to the Catholic church.

No COMMUNION for you!
