198 Democrats Voted Against the SAVE Act

Because it's common sense, and because Republicans are common sense, and non-citizens are considered a protected class in the eyes of the Left, Democrats have added that ideology as a part of their resume, and it's mushroomed into a giant volcano for them.

Similar to the transcult etc. It gets so braindead, and the Left is the one driving the bus, and they dont know how to stop it, so they keep going. Wait til they come up with "if you have an emotional-support animal that lives with you, your vote should count twice"

As I read these responses from what appear to be conservative people I can’t help but laugh.

You don’t see what’s happening here? The bigger picture problem?

The Democratic Party is openly admitting they want to leverage these non citizens as voters.

They’re taking a page from pro 2A advocates. “No law abiding citizens would ever use an AR to shoot innocents!!”. But we all know how that works out over and over again.

It was already illegal and still the DMV registered non-citizens as voters -- I know because they tried to do that with me, and it only didn't happen because I noticed and asked them to erase the checkmark already there even if I had told them I was not a citizen.

At least 80% of Americans want voter ID.

There is no good excuse - none - for Democrats to vote against this.

Why are Democrats opposed to deporting non citizens who attempt to vote or successfully vote? Why do Democrats want them to stay?

Because illegal aliens are the base of the New Democratic Party

Get with it

If there were as much concern about people illegally entering this country as people illegally voting, the Democrats would have a point.

It is already a law. This is performative.

(except green card holders and others can vote too, why do you want to ban them?)

Read the bill, or the news article linked above. There are a lot of components of this bill that are not currently law including deportation of illegal voters. Why do democrats oppose these changes?

Bingo. NY tried it too. And got sued (rightfully) because it dilutes the votes of citizens.

Make no mistake, they allowed millions to flood across the border in the last 3.5 years for just this purpose.

Not only are they opposed to deporting those here illegally, they are trying to bring back some that were correctly deported

Federalism says that is a local government decision, not Congress’s. Aren’t Republicans all about federalism and state and local authority?

Don’t play this BS on people. It makes no sense that illegal immigrants are legally voting in some local elections. The vast majority of Americans do not support this and it is a losing issue for Democrats.

Local elections are about property taxes and schools and water and sewer and other infrastructure for local residents. Legal residents own property, pay property and sales taxes, are impacted by local services and infrastructure, enroll their kids in public schools, etc. If the local government allows them to vote in local elections, it should be none of Congress’s business according to the Federalist Society’s SCOTUS.

These local governments are allowing illegal immigrants to vote. Not just legal immigrants.
