The SAVE ACT was just passed by the House, 221 - 198. This act enforces that only citizens can vote in elections. Why are Democrats against this and Biden promising to veto this law? |
It’s not needed. GOP has not proved that non-citizens vote.
Thought y’all were about small government. |
You know why. |
Only citizens can vote in federal elections.
What the hell is Congress trying to regulate? They have zero jurisdiction over state and local elections. |
Power and control is a plague and why the Democratic Party will soon lose. |
Well said. |
It was already illegal for non-citizens to vote. Obviously this was meant to intimidate legitimate voters. |
Not sure why legitimate voters would feel threatened by a law keeping non citizens from voting. In fact it makes their votes more valuable. |
We all know why: Democrats can’t win without cheating. |
How does it make their votes MORE valuable when non-citizens have not been voting in the first place? What would the law do? |
I mean many places are trying to normalize non citizens voting. Looking at you Takoma Park… |
Why vote for a redundant law? The law already says that only citizens can vote in federal elections. I thought Republicans were opposed to extraneous, redundant and wasteful laws. Oh wait - it's not at all about protecting elections, it's just performative theater pretending to protect elections while they fearmonger about illegal meskins stealing our elections. |
Why did Democrats fight the enforcement that only citizens can vote? Democrats can’t win without cheating. |
I can already see the GOP talking points and headlines about Dems wanting illegals to vote. Sadly, it will gain traction amongst the MAGA base because they know nothing about federal elections laws. |
There are over 20,000 redundant laws on the books that are tied to the 2nd Amendment, yet the Democrats want more laws. Meanwhile they're against the SAVE ACT, admittedly a redundant law. |
