The SAVE ACT was just passed by the House, 221 - 198. This act enforces that only citizens can vote in elections. Why are Democrats against this and Biden promising to veto this law?

What the hell is Congress trying to regulate? They have zero jurisdiction over state and local elections.

Not sure why legitimate voters would feel threatened by a law keeping non citizens from voting. In fact it makes their votes more valuable.

Why vote for a redundant law? The law already says that only citizens can vote in federal elections. I thought Republicans were opposed to extraneous, redundant and wasteful laws.

I can already see the GOP talking points and headlines about Dems wanting illegals to vote. Sadly, it will gain traction amongst the MAGA base because they know nothing about federal elections laws.

There are over 20,000 redundant laws on the books that are tied to the 2nd Amendment, yet the Democrats want more laws. Meanwhile they're against the SAVE ACT, admittedly a redundant law.
