The bar for being a good parent is very low. There's no such thing as a perfect parent, and we all turn out mostly okay. The people who turn out really flawed usually have something else going on. But I agree that anyone who has kids because they want love, or they have some expectation that their children will provide THEM with anything (security, grandchildren, etc.) are in it for the wrong reason. |
This is definitely one of the most selfish reasons to have kids. |
It's a terrible reason to have kids, but realistically it's a huge benefit. People without kids wind up a corpse stuffed in a garbage bag behind Michaels. |
Lol. Yup. |
Do you know how reproduction works? They're not clones... |
Why are you so triggered by CF posts? |
I'm assuming this is a troll, because that's not even close to true. |
I'm just saying they are, at best, Little Half Yous. In the case of my kids they are much better than me, thanks to the addition of my wife's genes. So, there's that... you could be upgrading the human species, which is unselfish. |
Is that why there are so many child/animal abusers, rapists, murderers, drunk drivers? Because we all turn out mostly ok? I think society disagrees. But thank goodness someone is popping out kids that turn into all these to fund SS

If you, at any point, thought the suggestion that everyone who doesn't have kids gets their corpse thrown in a dumpster behind Michaels, was a serious one, then I think it's time to logoff. Do you know how many people die every day and the relatively limited number of Michael's locations? It's not even an international chain, don't you think people would notice if millions of corpses were being imported tot he US and thrown in massive piles behind craft shop locations? C'mon, lady... who is trolling now? |
Animal abusers are almost always childless... think about that. |
|
Not sure why this troll is trying to derail the thread. They probably dont have any children (or have ever touched a woman...)

This is very insightful and accurate IMO - mom of three who was a caregiver growing up so was not surprised by parenting but think this is why many are |
The U.S has very few systems in place to support population growth of an educated populace. Really beyond the point the child is born ( there's lots of "discussion" before this time), the parents are on their own. The would be parents may choose to not become parents. |
| people are stupid. |
