I'm mid 40s and still look great post 3 children, so I'm wearing the cheeky bottoms and triangle bikini. Winter workouts make Summer bodies and abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.

Another kid 40’s mom who looks pretty damn good in a bikini. I don’t wear the cheeky bottoms just because I find them uncomfortable, but I can tell you that I look better/more fit than some of these young adults in their skimpy suits.

Nope. If you're going to put on a show, the audience is going watch.

That's great! As most women around here seem to be allergic to the idea of dressing up or, gasp, looking 'sexy', it's quite refreshing to hear that there's a group of moms rocking a bit of a Rio, Miami or French Riviera vibe at their local pool.

Where where ever you like. Really. But also don’t go complaining about people looking at you.

Short shorts, crop tops, and cheeky bathing suits appall her. Since hitting puberty at age 10 she would rather cover it all up.

I try to remind myself it’s so great these kids have such body confidence - but I also find the suits distracting. And I’m not sexualizing anybody - just noticing the girls are nearly naked.

Funny how the men aren’t wearing banana hammocks with their checks hanging out.

We just get to see their gross potbellies. Put on a rash guard guys, no one wants to see all that fat.

It awkward for families. My kids say things like - I can see her butt. I tell them to move along, but I wish they wore bathing suits that covers their butts. It’s the same at Whole Foods. Why are some shoppers in a bra and hot pants? It’s not a gym. People don’t wear clothes anymore.

How old are your kids? My 13 and 10 year old would die if I were sauntering around the pool deck in front of all their friends with my butt hanging out. You can be body positive without letting it all hang out.

Ok but some of us have less than perfect bodies or we’re older and no one wants to see that. I mean wear what you want but objectively it doesn’t look good unless you’re in the 25 and under crowd or you’re a fitness fanatic.

Walking the dog last week, I passed three middle school girls walking to the nearby middle school and all three seemed to be wearing nothing but a slightly large t-shirt. I could not see any shorts or bottoms. I was amazed. We thought we were pushing the limits in the 1990s but it's nothing like today.

It is possible for some girls to go a bit too far.

Why is this awkward for you? Your kid says “I can see her butt” and you say “Yes, I expect she likes that style of swimsuit. Don’t comment on other people’s appearances and style choices.”
