Good riddance. The Squad is the worst.

Antisemitism and anti Zionism never pays.

No. Bowman ran a horrible campaign. He had a lot of problems, not just the antisemitism. He was elected to pass legislation that helped people. Voting NO because a bill doesn’t go far enough is BS. That’s not how policy is made. I consider myself to be very progressive and like pragmatic legislatures, not show horses. Or maybe I should say Horseshow politicians. It doesn’t matter HOW he came to his decisions, it’s that he VOTED for the same outcome as MAGA.

Good riddance.

NP. People are sick and tired of the progressive left. This is just the beginning.

Yeah I’ve talked about this in the 2024 House thread, my sister lives in this district. I predict he and Cori Bush are both going to lose their primaries.

I consider myself progressive and I’m hoping he and Cori lose. I would have liked to see Talib gone. I think AOC has a good approach to making progress. She’s not a burn it all
Down or “it’s a revolution”
Sanders approach.

You are most definitely NOT a progressive. The appropriate label for you is centrist. You would be more likely vote for Nikki Haley than a member of the squad if they ran for President.

Oh please! Nikki who carries water for Trump? I was a Warren fan. AOC is a pragmatist, she understands how to make progress and picks her battles carefully. Sanders is all bluster and makes horrible personnel choices.

Np- absolutely. I think Bush, Bowman and some of the other “squad” members are grifters. The left’s version is the MAGA grift.

+1

And just like MAGA not so subtle anti semites.

Maybe they aren’t as destructive as MAGA, but they aren’t great. They aren’t smart and they aren’t productive.
The democrats have a deep bench of serious, smart, and talented people.
They aren’t on that list.

Bowman lost because American Jews, in large abundance in his district, voted for the interests of a foreign country.

Bowman was a bad candidate and a bad rep. Summer Lee, just as progressive, won her primary against AIPAC funded candidate in a similar district. This is why I wish AIPAC hadn’t weighed in. Bowman would have lost anyway. But now we have a split in progressive and the racism and antisemitism is ugly.

still a liberal Democratic kind of funny Republican's think we care.

More like we’re not completely out of the time where $$$ can buy elections to serve a foreign power, especially a fascist ethnostate committing genocide AND trying to start WW3.

+1 turns out that pulling weird fire alarms then spending your whole campaign ranting about AIPAC isn't that appealing. perhaps try actually being normal and running a normal campaign next time.

This just shows that the left is serious about governance and moderating the party to serve a broad coalition of Americans.
It’s a shame republicans can’t do the same.
Lauren Boebert won her primary yesterday.

Yeah, the picking of a very moderate Dem is def a harbinger of a red wave. Great analysis.

Bowman lost because he had no record to run on- only a campaign of hatred against his Jewish contents and aipac. He’s not a smart or productive member of congress, and his district, while solidly blue, isn’t radical. In addition to being bad at his job, he alienated a lot of his constituents and paid the price for it. He was also more concerned about his national “squad” status than he was about solving real issues in the district. His opponent is a long time civil servant within the district and will focus on local interests. Good riddance.

But continue scapegoating the Jews.

And by the way, Jews are 10% of his district (not eligible Democratic primary voters, the whole district). If people liked bowman, they could have easily shown up and voted for him. AIPAC does decide elections. Voters do.

Are you in the district? If not, maybe cork it. Bowman was historically unpopular and almost lost the primary against him in 2022- only difference was there were two candidates against him splintering the vote. Had there been rank choice voting, bowman would have lost by similar margins. AIPAC money was a reinforcement policy, but make no mistake that bowman was never popular here. He won a primary in a politically heated moment after BLM even though he was woefully unqualified. His two terms in Congress proved just how useless he is for the district and voters voted him out. That’s democracy, sorry you don’t like it. I live in the district.
