So criminals will follow the law in your world? It's against the law to murder innocent people but they broke that law. I imagine banning gun sales isn't going to stop them either. |
No kidding. Plus, there is the fact that many - if not most - localities do not break out crime statistics by documentation status. So, it is near impossible to make that claim. This is from 2020: "Texas is the only state that records and keeps the immigration statuses of those entering the criminal justice system. Texas gathers this information because its runs arrestee biometric information through Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases that identify illegal immigrants. Unlike other states, Texas DPS keeps the results of these DHS checks that then allows a more direct look at immigrant criminality by immigration status." https://www.cato.org/blog/new-research-illegal-immigration-crime-0 "Calculating group-specific crime rates is straightforward: It is the number of arrests within a particular group divided by its population (expressed per 100,000). In the case of undocumented immigrants, however, for years we lacked reliable estimates for both the numerator and the denominator required for such calculations. Regarding the number of undocumented immigrants (the denominator), data quality has improved in recent years as the Center for Migration Studies and the Pew Research Center now produce annual state- and national-level estimates of the undocumented population, ranging from 10.5 to 10.7 million in 2017 (1, 7).* Data on undocumented criminality (the numerator), however, have actually gotten worse over time. Despite the increasing centrality of local police in immigration enforcement (9), information on immigration status is remarkably scarce in most crime databases. Among the most widely utilized crime data sources, neither the Uniform Crime Reports, the National Crime Victimization Survey, nor the National Incident-Based Reporting System record information about immigration status. In addition, California stopped reporting the number of noncitizens in their custody to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) in 2013 and in 2017 became a “sanctuary state” by limiting information sharing between local criminal justice officials and federal immigration authorities (10). In 2016, they along with Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and Oregon did not report information on citizenship in their prison populations, and the BJS speculates that other states “likely provided undercounts” https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.2014704117 |

“Because it would be against the law for them to get a gun in the first place, dummy. Ergo, no mass shooting, because trying to obtain a gun would be illegal in itself. Are you always this dim? “
Is it illegal? The VA Tech shooter was not a citizen and legally purchased two 9mms and lots of ammunition. |

She had a great career path going, but then a man pretending to be a woman appeared on the scene. Call her an activist. She is a great voice for women. |

Has anyone noted that she was murdered by a Venezuelan?
And that Trump granted amnesty to Venezuelans on his last day in office? https://www.politico.com/news/2021/01/19/trump-venezuela-temporary-legal-status-460524 Just saying, this guy would have been perfectly fine in the US under Trump. |
| If I were Venezuela, I'd be flying planes full of all of my criminals and worst degenerates to the US and tell them all just to say asylum. Then refuse to take any back. What's the US gonna do about it? Theyet everyone in anyway. That's way I wouldn't have to spend any money jailing human scum. Just ship them to the US. |
Some believe this is exactly what is happening. |
The US needs to deport them back to Mexico. While Venezuela won't take them from the US, they will take them from Mexico. If we had a commander in chief who had a spine and would tell the Mexican president that he needs to deal with these people since they DID come through his country, we could have a solution. |
Amnesty? No. You don't know what the hell you are talking about.
