you have internet?? |
It is not WashU/Emory level now, nor was it before; it’s a notch below. I also see Emory as a notch below WashU. As for US News rankings, hadn’t it ranked Stanford as #6 for many years? Please. |
| Certainly recognizable name. A student will have to grow up immediately. Exact opposite of a hand holding, "nurturing" SLAC. |
My kid briefly considered. Hugely expensive. Always wondered how you handle move in day.

Couldn’t be more wrong! |
Look, I don't agree with that phrasing - and possibly thinking - to a large extent. But NYU seems like a huge money pit, a huge one. |
If anything Emory is the best of the 3. |
NYU and Emory were to top choices for ED for my kid. Went with NYU and got in. Will choose NYU again if accepted to both and have options. NYU has better business school, better engineering, better CS. Emory is really not considered above NYU for many people. |
#35 or 59 - what's the difference? Def. not $50000 more per year. |
Maybe you should see if your kid even gets in first. |
| People keep saying $300K, but you should expect the full cost to be closer to $95K/year when all is said and done. |
NYC is a lot safer than many cities and can be fairly accepting of all of its residents, who come from near and far. More so than many other cities across the country. Great transit system if one doesn't want to drive every day. Yeah, NYers can be jerks, but if a student is planning on living/working in states all along the two coasts, Chicago, parts of Texas, then a diploma from there is a good brand. And I am the PP dissuading folks from sending their DCs to NYU if money is even remotely an issue. |
Not by a long shot if you include Emory Oxford… |
Certainly not for comp sci or engineering |
