| OP, if money is at all an object, I would look for other alternatives. If DC really wants to be in NYC, perhaps subsidize summer internships. |

The US News ranking jumped the shark with its latest manipulations. It doesn't change what NYU is, a decently prestigious but pricey school in the heart of Manhattan.
There is no need to decide whether it's 22 or 32 or whatever. |
US News is more accurate now than in the past. |
No, it give more points to schools with more poorer students. That's not accurate and a way to evaluate schools. I don't care if students are poor or rich. I care quality of the students. |
Highest achieving kids are not always wealthy. If you want your kid with the highest achieving peers in college, then the new system makes sense. |
Other than WashU, the other top schools didn't drop much. |
Define "quality of the students". If you mean high stats, the top universities don't only take students with the highest stats. Otherwise, my very high stats kid would be at a T10, but instead, DC is at a state flagship (and they are happy there). |
+1 Some people are snobs. |
| NYU is still a good brand name and will remain as such. |
I agree, so schools should be color blind and wealthy blind in selecting students. So those should not be used in school evaluation. |
You are an idiot. |
There is no such thing as accuracy in ranking colleges, hundreds of which are equally great. You people are lost. |
| I would think it depends on the major. If you are on the fence about it, I wouldn't do it. That's a lot of money for, "I'm not 100% sold". |
Do they separate out the acceptance rate by school somewhere, because it was my understanding that they don't include 25% of the freshman class in the reported stats. |
| Doubtful you are going to get housing for four years at NYU. So be ready to rent an apartment in NYC, which is a big problem if you aren't rich and do not want to live in a slum. |
