There won't be a DNC if Trump wins, because we won't have elections anymore. That's the point.
If the DNC feels this way as well, other leaders in the Dem party must be working behind the scenes to figure out a way to convince Biden to back out of the race so that a nominee with better odds of beating Trump can replace him. We can't be content with 50/50 odds of beating Trump.
The other nominee would be Kamala Harris. There’s absolutely no chance the sitting VP wouldn’t get the nomination if Biden dropped out unexpectedly.
If Biden dropped out, there would be a more organic primary process to determine the nominee and assuming Harris would seek the nomination, she would have to campaign to earn the nomination. There is no guarantee she would be nominated but of course it is a possibility.
Why do you want the democratic party to fracture at this perilous time?
Fracture? How? I think it's in the best interest of our country to make sure we're not on the losing end to Trump in 2024.
So having the progressives, liberals and moderates in a tug of war is the way to do that?
Oh you're working on quashing that. No Florida presidential primary for the dem presidential candidate. How very "democratic" of you.
When was the last time an incumbent president had a serious challenger?
I don't care. If it's not a serious challenge, then let it occur.
In the modern era, there isn't a serious challenge to an incumbent president - it is a waste of time and money.
It's neat how you rationalize things based on D or R.
Good point. It's as if people think the D & R parties are irreplaceable public entities that function per some government mandated protocols. They aren't and their protocols obviously need some tweaking considering what appears will happen in 2024.
D & R should have a DNR order. Agree that it is weird that people here seem to think these parties must be the only parties forever more. They need some shake ups.
Why does the DNC need a shake up? What platform are they promoting that are not popular with voters? What have their candidates done to undermine our country?
They have become too corporate. They say nice things but the progressives in particular don’t have realistic plans. Unfettered immigration (which the GOP supports too) is hurting lower and middle class Americans. Promoting the under reporting of and ignoring crime is also hurting people. Hard to say that crime is actually down in some places. This leads to distrust in public sentiment about government services. Education with muddy assessment of student skills does not help kids get better and get ahead. To be sure, there is some good to go along with the bad but more and more it feels like the Ds are more about the illusion of moving this country forward. You asked specifically about the Ds, so I’ll stop there.
