She is "held accountable" by the voters of her district, and the voters of her district hold her accountable by voting. You're not holding her accountable, you're just complaining about her. Which is fine, as far as it goes - anybody gets to complain about any elected official they feel like complaining about. It just doesn't go very far. |

Obviously it was Elissa Silverman Now seems like a three-way tie between Brianne Nadeau, Janesse Lewis-George and Charles Allen. |
Incumbents with so-called "strong followings" do not get viable, well-funded primary challengers, as is happening in Ward 4. JLG is extremerely vulnerable. Allen only ran unopposed because he did everything he could to get his most viable challenger redistricted to Ward 7. |
| They all suck in that order. Signed 20+ DC resident. |
I guess we'll see. I'm usually a passive part of the electoral process, but the way Lisa (who I know reads this site based on her post on the other thread) is attacking JLG with crime reply style posts and retconning her career as if she was a cop has already caused me to donate to JLG and sign up to volunteer. I think Gore is going to fall firmly in the green team side, and I don't think they're as strong in W4 as they used to be. Could be wrong tho, I have been before! |
Amen. |
| Mink is the worst. I know DC has some terrible local politicians but they are all just being politicians. The thing that makes Mink so bad is that her brain is broken. She really believes all the insane stuff she says. |
I'm still not sure why JLG supporters keep bringing this up despite an utter lack of evidence evidence. Even the CityPaper reporter, who is an unabashed JLG fan, reported that there's no evidence that Gore is in cahoots with Bowser. Gore herself denies it. It's such a desperate reach, but that's the one talking point they seem to be going with. |

18 months ago this was her platform: "Gore, 54, lives in Hawthorne and is a retired federal agent. She said her priority is to provide housing for those in need and create housing policies that build equity for people, such as community land trusts. She wants to fight against displacement of Black and Brown people and repair public housing, along with ensuring housing for other groups, such as LGBTQ+ youths, people with disabilities, seniors and victims of domestic violence. Gore has experience in investigating public housing authorities and other housing programs. Her endorsements include Greater Greater Washington." I believe that the fact that she's completely shifted to a law and order campaign to try and displace JLG wasn't something that she came up with all on her own. It's like a completely different person running. |
Yep, this would be my list except I might leave off Glass, the other 3 infuriate me so much I have no more anger to spare! |
2020 called. They said get off their tip. |
2023 called to remind you that he is currently dominating the field in the race for the nomination. |
Elissa Silverman had the other problem of being seen as manipulating the Ward 3 Council primary race and then dissing Ward 3 voters by embracing a gerrymandered ANC plan that resulted in splitting neighborhoods. She then said she'd throw a big party in Ward 3 to "celebrate" the redistricting scheme that she pushed through. A lot of voters then went to the polls in November with the goal of celebrating Silverman's defeat. |
Like a bullet shot down Connecticut Avenue by a voucher holder! Like the bullet they shot through the window and front door of my former building. |
