Doesn’t happen in my Bethesda neighborhood. People keep to themselves. |
| I've never noticed that. I actually think many Marylanders are quite nice, friendly, and open. Expect the striving transplant types but they are everywhere in this area |
1000% |
All I know is I got gas once in Bethesda and a man looked at me with disgust! I think he was judging me by my non luxury car??? Who knows, it was crazy. |
My God, some of you having meltdowns over a LOOK. Maybe he didn't like your outfit, maybe he had RBF and looks at everyone that day, maybe he was just having a rough day.... Honestly if one LOOK is the worst story you have about a place that's proof that the people must be pretty nice. |
You think MD is teeming with transplants from the former East Germany, to the point that Marylanders are generally unfriendly? |
| People in Maryland just look unhappy in general. They don't really like Maryland but can't afford DC or Virginia. |
| Living next to racists in VA, Politicians in DC and Hillbillies in WV is tough on us MD people and we get cranky |
I’m from MD and I love this funny upsurge in Maryland pride. I’m all about it. I don’t live nearby anymore but I still have a tiny flag out front. And anytime I spot a crab/horse/lacrosse stick/whatever with a Maryland flag pattern, I know I’m among friends. |
That's because all introverts are required to live in Bethesda. Go find your own tribe and stop expecting us to interact with you. It makes us very uncomfortable. |
Not to mention the abomination of VA drivers. That in itself is enough to put most sane people (read: Marylanders) in a foul mood. |
Your childish stereotypical view of the world is embarrassing, and would be offensive if you mattered. You are the provincial one for whom people only exist in your imagination and books. The Berlin wall went down 35 years ago. It was a geopolitical artifact, not the culture if the people of Germany |
No. Try again. The original settlers to MD were largely from Germany.
|
Actually, it was both. It was a cultural reaction to a situation, not dissimilar to people responding in kind to rude Marylanders. Like yourself. |
Kind of funny. I live in DC. |
