Wow. They really have the knives out if they hired DeGuerin. Damn. By Ken.

If that guy defended Durst in the Morris Black murder case, he must have a way in the court room. The evidence was clear and convincing, but he was acquitted. Durst went on to murder someone else after that acquittal.

He’s in the way of the ‘turn TX blue’ goal. They got AZ, TX is next. This is the new Dem ‘thing’. Use the leftist courts and threats to get rid of those that block the agenda.

Wut.

What until DeGuerin and Hardin put Paxton's mistress on the stand (and the man who employed this mistress so that she could be closer to Paxton.) When they get her (and her former employer on record), Paxton will look way worse than he does now (and he looks bad now.)

No one cares if the Dems are after Paxton because there are not enough of them in the Texas Senate to make a difference. The GOP is after Paxton because he is a crook with a little more finesse than a man robbing a 7-Eleven in Kermit.

So the republican dominated Lego’s is trying to turn Texas blue? That’s a take.

There are zero “Dems” behind this effort. Say both my boss and my six-year-old want me to stop working. They may have the same goal, but my boss has a LOT more power to actually fire me than my six-year-old does.

I don’t know who DeGuerin is (sorry PP who wants us to read the Texas pubs; sometimes I just want a pat answer and not to have to read a long slog about a corrupt state that I can’t do anything to change, you know?) but I enjoy your certainty.

It's not that I want people to read them, it's that if people are going to speculate why this is happening, then I am going to provide information and links/ especially when people are saying not plausible things like it was because Paxton said the Speaker of the TX House presided drunk. While mean, the TX Lege is always a circus so it's also not mean enough to trigger what is about to happen to Paxton.

DeGuerin is a very famous (in TX) criminal defense attorney, arguably someone Ken Paxton would want representing him. I also saw the Lege hired Rusty Hardin, who is another heavy hitter criminal defense attorney. So the Legislature just hired the two most famous criminal defense attorneys in the state to prosecute Paxton. Paxton in turn has hired Tony Buzbee, who is my law school classmate. We kind of all hated him but none of us were surprised that he's become a millionaire plaintiff's lawyer. I hope this sh!T is on TV because I will be watching.

Great info, PP, thanks! Rusty Hardin’s name is SO familiar to me. Looking over his wiki I would love to think it’s because of Arthur Andersen 🧐, but I’m pretty sure it’s because of J. Howard Marshall. 😬

Er...

Right? As if Abbott and the TX legislature are part of the new Dem 'thing'.

So many questions
1) do you know what impeachment is
2) do you know who impeaches someone
3) do you know which party is in control in Texas
4) do you know whether courts are involved

Is he being arrested this week by the Feds? There’s either a dead girl or a naked underage boy.

I think it’s because there’s an US Attorney in the western district of Texas who’s actually investigating all this stuff while none of the Trump-nominated ones were, so there will be additional federal charges and movement on the indictment he’s been under for years.

The Texas Senate has 19 Republicans and 12 Democrats currently in office. Every Democrat could push for impeachment, and it would not mean a thing.

I hope they televise the trial. If they do not televise it all, I hope they televise it when DeGuerin or Hardin question Paxton's mistress while Paxton's wife(!) is in the chamber listening.

Does anyone think the FBI arrested Nate Paul to make sure he did not flee the state?

Paxton owes Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick $125K in campaign loans. Patrick is a juror. And Paxton's wife, Sen. Angela Paxton, owes his campaign $600K. Paxton is a juror too.
