| texas GOP is clearly not interested in a democracy |

Acquitted.
So glad I don't live in Texas anymore. Shameful. Lousy bunch of weak cowards. |
| What a joke of a state. Unbelievable. |
|
I am very surprised this was taken up. What he did is standard stuff for republicans. I heard he did not give money to key people but now that has been taken care of. So he was acquitted. Now he can get back to the real work which is grifting and getting ready to run for a higher office(so he can steal more money). Yeah Texas! Secession Can not come soon enough. |
No, it's really not. And your bs "give money to key people" isn't either. |
Sure is. Texas is know for it corruption. It’s a republican controlled state. Guess you did not watch the impeach trial? |
|
Republicans like and even prefer their politicians corrupt.
Prove me wrong. |
Sure did. And I'm from there. There's a reason they started this impeachment. You can pretend it's business as usual but it's not. |
Yes, they started this impeachment because Paxton's corruption was too over-the-top even for Republicans. Imagine that! |
| So what was the point of this entire farce? |
To try to get a corrupt politician out of office. But corruption among their own party members doesn't bother Republicans, as we see time and time again. |
|
I really didn’t think he was going to be acquitted. There were a lot of Republicans who were vocal about this corruption being too much for even the party if grift and corruption.
I keep thinking the republicans will hit rock bottom on their ethics, but they keep sailing below the Mariana Trench at this point. |
The only obvious answer is that they voted what was best for their future. They probably fear Dan Patrick, Lt Gov who ran the trial and was vocally pro-Paxton. |
Unfortunately you are giving GOPers too much credit. Fewer and fewer of them have any ethical standards. |
