These look like supergas to me. Are they more comfortable? I find supergas lacking arch support (like converse) and vejas remainded stiff and uncomfortable after months of wear. I wear Stan Smiths because they balance simple style and comfort, but would prefer a cuter option.

Yep, that's why I bought them. I have terrible feet and I'm prone to plantar fasciitis, the Salvas are super comfy. They come with really good insoles, but they're also removable if you want to put in something better (I wear special insoles for plantar fasciitis).

thank you!

Hokas are in and they make an all white

Where are sambas actually available right now?

3 years ago I had Stan Smiths.
2 years ago I had Vejas
Last summer I had all white Nike AF1s and Nike Dunks for color accents

This summer the supposed It shoe is the Adidas Gazelle, which I believe because it’s sold out everywhere. I’m probably going to settle for Rebok Club C instead.

My feet are narrow so Converse Chuck Taylors and Adidas Gazelles are what work for my feet. I actually like the feel of a narrow, firm, shoe...weirdly, I can't stand "softer" shoes like Allbirds.

I don’t find my Chuck Taylors very comfy, so I stick with the classic Sam Smiths. I love them. You can get them all white if you don’t like the green detail.

I'm French, from Paris, and no, they're not, except on fashion-challenged people.

Dear "Parisienne" PP, I live in Paris and I see platform converse on so many people - women and teenagers alike. Sorry to disrupt your vision of Paris!

Adidas Stan Smiths (not Sam Smiths!) are always a classic. I also really like the Grand Court, with contrast stripes. It's just a really versatile shoe but it also has some personality.

Teens are still doing Nike AFO. This look is too young for me and I just don't like Nikes (don't find them comfortable, don't like the styling) but could work for the right person.

I am seeing more Golas on people these days, but rarely just in white. But they do come in white! They are a sleeker, more feminine sneaker than a lot of alternatives.

I am also seeing more Reebok Club Cs, it's a very classic look (think Princess Di in her bike shorts and sweatshirt with a pair of Reeboks). You can get them in a white white but they are more classic in an off white (also easier to care for -- so hard to keep white shoes truly white).

Agree Converse are always cool but also agree they aren't comfortable. Feel the same about Superga -- the sole is too heavy for the canvas upper, IMO. But they look cool.

If you like canvas and lightweight, check out Cariuma. Very popular summer shoe but I think it's more feminine and more comfy than Converse. but also more elevated than Keds.

There are so many sneaker options these days.

It's AF1 not AFO.

I'm cracking up! You're the second PP to call them that. It's Stan Smith.

(I like them, but they are not an "IT" sneaker right now.)

Are people wearing the regular platform, or the new really chunky style?

I.e. regular: https://www.converse.com/shop/p/chuck-taylor-all-star-lift-platform-canvas-womens-high-top-shoe/560846F.html?dwvar_560846F_color=white%2Fblack%2Fwhite&styleNo=560846F&cgid=platform-shoes

New/chunky: https://www.converse.com/shop/p/run-star-hike-platform-unisex-high-top-shoe/A03549C.html?dwvar_A03549C_color=cheeky%20coral%2Fwhite%2Fblack&styleNo=A03549C&cgid=platform-shoes

I thought people were just buying the Gazelles because the Sambas were sold out everywhere

^^ Correct. Sambas are 100% the "it" shoe. Amazon actually has some right now, but not in smaller sizes.
