Understand that people like Charlie Kirk are not thought leaders. They are provocateurs. And it’s not students who react this way to them, it tends to be the Antifa types who clash regularly with the America-hating right-wing.

No, the title is not at all wrong.

First of all, I have read that one of the protesters arrested were not affiliated with the school. The other person's identity has not been confirmed.
They were still out of control. Nobody was arrested for breaking windows or throwing eggs. The arrests were because of graffiti painted on a building.
And, if we want to talk about who exactly is "America-hating," I would say those who are preventing freedom of speech and assembly are guilty of this.

He was free to speak. They were free to protest. Kirk’s message is fundamentally anti-American. The end. But nongovernment threatened his free speech rights.

You act like all speech is valid. Charlie Kirk’s speech isn’t valid. He still gave it and there were consequences for it since most people think he is a vile person.

Free speech doesn’t mean you’re owed a platform and a channel to say what you want unchallenged.

Lol sure, I’m sure you would have the same opinion if the students were throwing eggs at a leftist socialist speaker.

So looks like
I was right.

NOT STUDENTS.

Kirk shows up and gets the proud boys to instigate some unaffiliated counter protesters, so he can go on FOX NEWS and lie about being protested by students.
When are we going to start calling out this crap?

About 100 protesters at the University of California, Davis, surrounded a venue attempting to disrupt an event Tuesday evening headlined by conservative personality and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The event was organized by the school’s Turning Point chapter.

The protesters, who were mostly wearing black, clashed with law enforcement officers and other students, including attendees of the event, as they smashed windows, hurled eggs, used pepper spray and blocked people from entering the University Credit Union Center, where the event was held.

Gosh I hope the liberal intelligencia condemns this protest with the same fervor they have others.

One officer sustained an injury when he was jumped on from behind and pushed to the ground, and two people were arrested and taken to Yolo County Jail for allegedly painting graffiti on an exterior wall of the University Credit Union Center, or UCUC

The cowards of course covered their faces as much as possible. Isn’t the point of college to be have your beliefs challenged and at least allow others to be heard? Shameful.

Why? It's their right to protest. Whether you like it, or the issue, or not. Just like it's the right of MAGA idiots to stand on the corner disrupting my commute with their idiotic "stop the steal." I didn't like it but it is their right.

Once again - is it their right to jump LEOs, pepper spray others, break windows, vandalize, graffiti, block entrances, throw eggs and other projectiles? The irony of someone like you calling others "idiots" is just astounding.
DP

Funny that you mention pepper spray. Isn't UC Davis the school where the campus cop casually pepper sprayed a row of peaceful students while they were sitting down?

Yes, they then paid consultants to try and scrub the image

I guess they never heard of the Streisand effect

January 6 was two years ago. Every Republican I know was appalled by the behavior, we and they are so tired of the what aboutism that seems to occur every time anti free speech activists act like this or worse.

We absolutely should allow hate speech. Hate speech is a term thrown around by others to put down ANY speech they disagree with!

The bolded above is completely false. Most Republicans are still trying to whitewash, deny and deflect from it rather than owning up to it and accepting responsibility.

Not at all.

What we are saying is that there is not equal justice when it comes to those entering the Capitol on that day.
There are far too many people who have been over charged for just entering the Capitol - trespassing - and not committing any violence or destruction.
They are receiving sentences that are much lengthy than rioters during the summer of 2020 that set buildings ablaze and were quite violent during the "mostly peaceful protests."
Or, people who have raped or attacked others ON VIDEO.

The vast majority of people arrested did nothing more than trespass. That - my dear - is a fact.

You're either lying or being lied to. Out of the thousands who marched on the Capitol there were well over 800 people illegally entered the Capitol and trespassed on January 6th. Of those 800 who trespassed, the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of them got off with no charges whatsoever.

Of the 800 who trespassed, only a small handful are actually being detained and prosecuted - those being the ones who were at the vanguard, the ones who were at the front of the group and in high profile, smashing their way in, assaulting officers, making specific threats, vandalizing Capitol spaces, stealing items and so on.

You are ignorant of what is happening.

Here is one case - there are many more like this.
Daniel Goodwyn. Was in the Capitol for less than a minute. He left when he was told to. He entered around 3:20 and didn't realize he was not allowed to.
He has spent a month in jail & a year on home confinement pre-trial.

LOL. Of course he knew he shouldn't storm a building unless he has a severe disability.

I really don’t understand all the outrage around college kids. College kids have long protested about things throughout history. Bunch of old cranky people are making a stink. They will grow out of it.

Kirk is literally about to be on FOX right now.
Because this was the entire point.

MAGA-types (I don't even call them Republicans anymore) love playing up the faux outrage, don't they?

No, his entire point was to give a speech.
But, the snowflakes couldn't handle it.

And, he is not on Fox now.

MAGA: How dare those kids attack the police!

Exactly! They’re the biggest snowflakes and hypocrites in America. It’s annoying. They can’t handle college kids protesting but have no problems trying to outlaw drag. Such hypocrisy!!

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I have no sympathy and am surprised you do. He was parroting the Big Lie about the election.

Tell me: Do you believe Trump won the election? He did not.

Tell us how Kirk's message is "UnAmerican." Be specific.

When student protests include blocking entrances, breaking windows, throwing eggs...... no, my dear. This is not promoting freedom of speech.

Among many examples, Kirk is a prolific election denier and liar. He attacks democracy.

https://thehill.com/homenews/media/530239-geraldo-rivera-charlie-kirk-clash-over-voter-fraud-that-is-so-dishonest/

And has been already pointed out, it wasn’t “students” doing these things.

Sure, they protest.
I guess in your book, protesting also includes blocking entrances, smashing windows, attacking attendees, and working to prevent the speech altogether.
Honey, this is not a "protest."
