One or both of them was likely involved, right??

Sorry, it should read “uninjured”, not “uninsured.”

They could have been drugged or threatened not to call the police.

Or were college students who slept in until noon.

I don't see how one person stabbed and killed four adults. Unless they were asleep/passed out at the time.

Yes, right? Sounds like a horror movie, not reality.

I don’t think it would be unusual to sleep into noon after a night out in college, especially Saturday night. And I understand the sleep may have been aided by alcohol. BUT strange that 4 roommates were slashed to death including a 20 year old male who looks in good shape, and you don’t wake up. No screams? The circumstances around the murders are very weird. Like the guy was in the house, waited for them to fall asleep or even drugged them and intentionally murdered 4 or the 6 occupants. My heart brakes for all those involved. So terrible it is keeping me up at night worrying about my own children in college. The joy in their pictures is heartbreaking.

The other two roommates are women and I read that a sheriff spokesperson said they were NOT suspects and were cooperating. The fact that victims were all stabbed IMO makes it less likely 2 college women could have done it. Stabbing a person to death, much less 4 people, is very hard to do and time consuming vs using a different method like a gun. I would think the other roommates could have been overpowered vs a man that is bigger and stronger than you (not trying to get into a huge gender debate).

The young man that was murdered was athletic, according to his mother.

Definitely was NOT suggesting the two unharmed roommates were involved in the murders. Just staying the murders seemed to have some other component to enable 4 to be killed by knife without disturbing the other two. I have heard the layout of house and rooms are untraditional, but I still don’t get how there was not enough screaming or commotion to wake roommates up. Is it possible the house was gassed to knock them out? Just terrible.

What? I thought everyone eventually lived off campus? At lease that’s what we did 30 years ago at UVA!

This whole thing is beyond strange. FWIW I do not like college kids in off campus housing. They are mature but still a little clueless at that age. I am going to guess the door was not locked or the kids let in someone they thought was a friend? The call at noon could be reasonable but given how gory we are hearing everything is just doesn’t make sense for a 911 call to say unconscious person. I am wondering if police said no danger because given these circumstances thought it had to be the roommates and now that they are cleared they know this could be a Ted Bundy thing. Horrible week for college news.

Most colleges only have housing for the first two years, some only the first year.

Almost all upperclassmen live in off campus housing.

But is this a good thing? I would say no. Maybe senior year but younger in campus is better. Also the off campus places tend to be run down which you understand because owners know kids will be living there.

So funny how people assume their experience is the only one there is!

My kid only looked at schools that guaranteed 4 years of housing on campus, in fact the one she chose required it.

Seems to make sense that the 2 unharmed roommates are obvious suspects. And maybe the reason they didn’t call 911 was they had to get rid of the evidence and stuff.. also if the 4 victims were intoxicated then it’s easier to stab them no? Idk, just thinking out loud. The 2 unharmed roommates doesn’t make sense. They have to be involved in some way..
