No. 80+ is just too old to be president.
Biden is doing a good job overall but we need someone new. Trouble is who. I don’t like Kamala or Pete. |
|
I wasn't enthused to vote for him in 2020, I'm much less enthused today, though I'd do it.
The democratic party needs someone that people can feel good about supporting. Someone definitely younger. |
Yes, I’ve known many mentally sharp 82-year-olds. But they don’t have the physical stamina to be President. |
|
Nobody wants an 85 year old silent generation president
Dems are crazy. |
| If we feel that Gen Z helped keep the red wave from rolling in, we also have to consider if GenZ is going to connect with a man who is older than their grandfather. The dems need to reconsider their strategy and look at their voting base. I do not understand how this is their best candidate. |
How will DeSantis beat Biden if Trump is also running as a third-party candidate? |
Biden is not doing a good job on the border nor did he as CIC do a good job on the Afghanistan withdrawal. Bush was pres when the USA went in but Obama really grew the presence and spending on buiding a nation there. Obama was pres when Russia snatched Crimea and Donbass - 2014. Harris is supposed to be in charge of the border. The Democrats seem to plan /negotiate who runs while Republicans seem to freefall. Hence a Trump. R election deniers lost in 2022. D Stacey Abrams still blames losses on whatever for a statewide GA voter race. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/stacey-abrams-has-a-new-excuse-it-s-racist-and-stupid/ar-AA13W1nE?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=0642a0ab3ad94af69cafcfe5e9145cd1 GA voters chose via primaries 2 AA to compete on a statewide race for the US Senate. D machine keeps running Abrams so I guess it will exert candidacy control. In NC the D's had Jackson drop out of the US senate race to run for the house. Beasley-D lost to Budd-R. So Jackson won in a reliable D US area for the House. If the Democrats have a potential candidate like Jeff Jackson why would they ever run a Harris cackling away or Buttigieg? That VA gov election would have gone D except for really extreme stuff by Northam-Tran and Qarni. People were really sad when Northam didn't resign and the Justin Fairfax issues became public. |
Oh stop with the melodrama "leader of the free world" nonsense ... President Biden is the president of the United States; that's it. And he's proven he can WIN a presidential election and just delivered a huge mid-term election victory defying historical trends. We need to stop this griping about this-or-that vanity candidate --- we have a sitting president who has already said that he's running in 2024. The mid-terms elections have vindicated Biden and there is no way he is not running for reelection. Biden is our guy and we need to get behind him and talk to voters about what he has delivered already and what more he will do in a second term. This presidency is really only just beginning. Let's not make perfect the enemy of the good. |
I would agree with this. But then I think that is the perfect opportunity to have another (much younger) Democrat step since just about anyone will win easily against the dueling republicans. He is already past average life expectancy. Entering another presidency term at 82 is smart or safe for the country. You can't deny the degeneration of mind and body that come with age. |
Trump will be too old as well. I think his support will lose steam. |

I feel better about Biden today than I did a week ago!
I think he's a good president - effective, kind, not screaming for attention but sort of quietly getting stuff done. Let's see how the next year goes - and let's see who else seems like they could step up, is how I feel about it. Still standing with Joe here, though. I think we should also take this week as a reminder not to overread the polls, about Biden's job approval or anything else. |
| Biden fetterman, it would be hilarious |
| Biden running is the surest way to a new MAGA presidency. I hope he doesn't. I also hope Kamala doesn't run. She just isn't very popular. I would prefer someone people can get excited about, like Buttigihowever you spell it. |
Yeah clearly this week showed a national appetite for more MAGA. Good analysis. |
|
I don’t get the Pete stans. I like him enough but no, he is not even close to electable for POTUS. No.
I think Biden is great, will vote for him. I think Harris isn’t right for a second VP term. I never felt one way or the other about her. She’s just there. Might be good to have someone that people have stronger hopes for? But her defenders will say he can’t win without her. I think that’s incredibly arrogant and inaccurate. |
