Agreed. My guess? If the Pride girls go to Capital, so with the NL girls. If they don't make blue they may stay but with no solid recruiting history, Capital will be a big draw.

Anyone familiar with NL ‘28/‘29 girls’ teams can say whether any girls on those teams have a legitimate shot at Capital Blue?

The 27 team is the weakest of the 3, so maybe 1-2 girls for Blue. The 28 team has 1-2 at most as well. A good amount of talent in the 28 year has already gone to Maryland teams, especially Hero's. It looks different than the 27 and 29 years.

Not a single player has left the ‘28 team for a “Maryland” team. ‘28 picked up a couple Stars players and one Pride Red.

The 28 NL team didn't pick up any impact players and will struggle to win more than 1-2 games in NGLL this season.

Pride Red player is an impact player. You do not know what you are writing about.

Let's make this easy. The 27, 28 NL teams are not good, won't be sending many players to Capital Blue and won't win this spring. Leaving Pride Red (best 28 team in the area) for a lesser NL club, not something most would do.

how about we let the girls grow and develop at their own pace and when tryouts for Capital happen we’ll all know who makes what team. It’s great you have your daughter’s future all panned out.

The Delorean is gassed up with garbage and ready for the future! Up next, 88mph!

Are there two NL '26 girl teams? I see one is 26-27 and one just 26 on the US Club Lacrosse site. Which one is the A team?

Good for NL that they happened to have a large turnout for one 26 and a combo team. Let’s be honest NL is the perfect HS program for the average player whose HS team is just ok and they want to play in 2 tournaments a year to sort of play a little extra outside of HS. If you are a rock star and your HS team is just okay u r not playing at NL unless who don’t care about lacrosse, and all of that is fine, just have to know your DD.

This is 100% accurate. NL has no recruiting on the girls side. They have zero recruits. None. So anyone who is even thinking about playing in college leaves in MS. The girls who stay are just looking to keep a stick in their hand and maybe stay on a HS team (depending on where they got to HS). No college coach is going to watch a Next Level HS game. They don't play in any of the IWLCA tourneys. It's crazy the difference between the boys and the girls side of the club.

Many have tried but no one has figured out how to have both strong boys and girls teams at the same club.

So it is basically like a rec team for HS age?

Simply put, the wrong people are being hired and put in charge as Directors of the programs. St James is the best example out there.

Would anyone "yet" consider either of these "strong" programs? I think 3d or True would be the best examples but still not great. STEPS is one that has a decent girls program but weak boys teams. But even nationally Team 91, 3D, and True cannot claim to be leaders in both. Locally, Cav's, Hammers/Evergreen, Madlax, NL, 3d, and a few others have all tried. I think you are correct it is the directors who do not understand one side or the other.

However, rec programs have done this way better. Unfortunately we are killing rec lacrosse.

Rec lacrosse in the NVYLL area may not last another 5 years. The endless number of Travel clubs has killed Rec and the numbers show that.

And apparently Next Level is really tight with the Biden family. Bonus!

If you are looking I would say NL 26 is the next rebuild. !

I think your name might be Nostradamus? Very accurate post.

Very accurate indeed. Watch your backs, NL 26. Good luck to you all as change is in the air.

I don’t follow. Are you saying current NL 26 players need to watch their backs bc NL is recruiting
New players?

There's a new coach at NL 2026 Blue (Boys) and supplemental tryouts are scheduled for Sun, February 5, 11:30am – 1:00pm. Any insight into who the new coach is? Why the change was made? Players staying? Going?

is there a link for registration and location. My DS is looking to jump on a team this summer and I know these club teams are pretty much locked up with payments made in full. Any insight on who the coach will be?

This is not very accurate with respect to girls leaving in MS. It is true that NL does not have much of a HS program and that what it does have is good for the average player, what is totally inaccurate is that the quality girls leave in middle school. Only one quality player has left to go to another program on the ‘27 team, none have left from the ‘28 team and the same is true for the ‘29 team. It will be telling to see where these girls go in HS as the top players will not stay in all likelihood but the statement that the quality players leave in MS is incorrect.

I am sure they will stick it out through 8th grade, and then go try out for Capital. That is the most logical path. Staying with NL through HS with the top girls isn't the best path when they have the option of Capital.
