Good for NL that they happened to have a large turnout for one 26 and a combo team. Let’s be honest NL is the perfect HS program for the average player whose HS team is just ok and they want to play in 2 tournaments a year to sort of play a little extra outside of HS. If you are a rock star and your HS team is just okay u r not playing at NL unless who don’t care about lacrosse, and all of that is fine, just have to know your DD.

This is 100% accurate. NL has no recruiting on the girls side. They have zero recruits. None. So anyone who is even thinking about playing in college leaves in MS. The girls who stay are just looking to keep a stick in their hand and maybe stay on a HS team (depending on where they got to HS). No college coach is going to watch a Next Level HS game. They don't play in any of the IWLCA tourneys. It's crazy the difference between the boys and the girls side of the club.

This is not very accurate with respect to girls leaving in MS. It is true that NL does not have much of a HS program and that what it does have is good for the average player, what is totally inaccurate is that the quality girls leave in middle school. Only one quality player has left to go to another program on the ‘27 team, none have left from the ‘28 team and the same is true for the ‘29 team. It will be telling to see where these girls go in HS as the top players will not stay in all likelihood but the statement that the quality players leave in MS is incorrect.

I am sure they will stick it out through 8th grade, and then go try out for Capital. That is the most logical path. Staying with NL through HS with the top girls isn't the best path when they have the option of Capital.

Yep - my take as well.

They haven't left the 27-29 MS teams because unless they go to a top Baltimore club, there's not an incentive to move to Pride or Stars before ultimately leaving for Capital. There shouldn't be a narrative though that top players are staying at NL for HS over Capital. The top players will all leave for Capital, Pride or a Baltimore team for HS.

Right. Unless I missed it, no one said any quality players stay at NL in HS. I just took issue with the statement (paraphrasing) that the quality players leave in MS which virtually none have. I believe you are right that they better players intend to tryout for Capital.

Anonymous wrote: I don’t follow. Are you saying current NL 26 players need to watch their backs bc NL is recruiting
New players?

Weekly on Sunday, until Feb 27, 2023
The tryout will be held at either the Rockville Sportsplex of The Heights School depending on the weather.

Good luck making Capital. 27’s, for example, will have to compete with Stars, Pride and BLC.

Nothing douchey about it all, the guy was just pointing out the reality that there will be tough competition for spots on that team given the numbers who will be trying out.

If the Stars 2027 and BLC 2027 teams are so amazing why wouldn’t they just stay together in high school.

what is nasty or douchey about saying that a team is going to have a ton of players trying out and hard to make? you sound a bit sensitive.

Do you honestly think that the people who will be trying out for Capital don’t know who they will be competing against for spots? You’re the douche. Don’t run from it, sweetie.

Dunno, using the word "sweetie" is a pretty clear indicator. Pot/kettle/black etc.

Stars 27 not a shoe in for a capital Blue spot just because you are part of the so called feeder program.

Of course they all know and they also know that there's nothing to worry about from the NL teams.

Info from another board: I heard that the Madlax and Next Level 2026 teams are merging into one.

NL got an email warning them new players would be at practice this weekend for an invite only supplemental tryout, and that the depth chart will be changing. No mention of Madlax.
