Why is the "fiscally responsible" candidate the only one in the Ward 3 race willing to throw millions at RFK stadium in hopes of bringing back the terrible Washington Football Team/Commanders? He's only lashing out at spending when it comes to legislation like paid family leave which actually supports DC residents. |
Goulet only understands budgets. At no point during this election did he have any unique or creative ideas on how to improve Ward 3. He talked about his experience with budgets at every debate. He never mentioned his activism in the community because he has never been involved in the community. He's good at talking about budgets. |
Yup, any idea that he’s into fiscal responsibility is completely undermined by this lunacy. |
I don't even know that he gets budgets. It's nice to have some money at the end of the year but the city keeps getting surprised by these massive budget surpluses. I don't like it when the book keepers are "surprised" by things. At least pretend like you knew about it. Also what is his platform? What does he say he is going to actually do? He doesn't seem to have ANY plan for schools except to NOT build or develop the property we've already purchased so that means we're overcrowded for at least the next 10 years? We need those schools yesterday and not a council person for this ward who isn't going to fight for them or at least come up with another solution. He also claims prk3 and 4 are budget issues. We don't have space. Each year we have to take seats away because we have too many kids in our elementary schools. He's completely out of touch and it sounds like he as zero plans to improve anything. It sounds like he'd just be rubber stamping whatever the Mayor wants and that's not going to go well for any of us. |
I’m voting for Goulet. He’s the least crazy of the bunch. |
How can you say this when he is the only candidate who has promised to block the construction of two new DCPS schools in Ward 3 (something he cannot actually do)??? |
Supporting public financing of a new NFL stadium is crazier than anything anyone else in the race is proposing. |
Some noxious combination of contrarianism, NIMBYism, and reactionism, most likely. |
It’s honestly a pivotal moment for the city. Pull back from the brink with Goulet or follow SFs lead. It cannot be more plain than that. |
Really? Support programs like paid family leave and ranked-choice voting or throw millions at an NFL stadium while blocking new DCPS schools... The decision should be clear. |
