On a plane to Dallas with Klobuchar. |
LOL. I’m the PP, and I was on the fence between Duncan and Frumin until a few hours ago, when Duncan’s decision made my decision for me. But I am anti-Goulet like it was my job. |
The issue I have with Goulet is that he is very close to Vincent Grey when Grey ran a shadow campaign to unseat Fenty. You can not be that close and not know what was happening. In my mind it is an ethical question. I want more from our city's leaders. |
Really, who cares? He’s a non-factor in this race. A candidate who wants to end single family home zoning in Ward 3 residential neighborhoods has no chance. |
But Frumin is beholden to development interests. |
How so? He is using the Fair Election program, and is thus not taking big dollars or corporate/PAC money. He has always represented the community in "getting to yes" on development issues, including as Chair of the Lisner Home board earlier this year. |
100% false. |
This appears to be the article and action that was the catalyzing moment.

He is telling shifting stories because he got caught. |
Bergmann out too now. Calling on supporters to follow Duncan's lead and unite behind Frumin against outside dark money. The dam has broken. |
Dammit. I sealed my ballot last night and planned to mail it today |
Trash it and vote in-person. Seriously. It is a small price to pay to help stop outsiders from trying to buy our election and hire a candidate unresponsive to local voters. |
You were originally voting for Bergman and only now you are worried that you are wasting your vote? LOL. |
Goulet is not being supported by "out of state" interests. Goulet does have the support of a lot of business interests who appreciate the fact that Goulet has YEARS of experience understanding the DC budget and how taxes and revenue works. Goulet is the only candidate sounding the alarm about how the DC budget has continued to expand significantly at the same time the city is losing residents. Goulet understands that when the next round of tax assessments is done on all the vacant office buildings downtown, the city's coffers are going to decrease as well. The city council has far too many relative novices in understanding how all those moving pieces work together. |
The city is averaging 9-10 figures of budget surplus each of the last 10+ years. The city is not hurting for money and yes, Goulet is being supported by out of state interests. He has a whopping 200 Ward 3 financial supporters for a max total of $10,000 (pre-match) and at least $250,000 of DFER dark money. If Goulet was so respected, why isn't he getting endorsed by other Councilmembers who have worked with him so closely? |
