LOL UC bribed Forbes |
If OP included Amherst and Williams, then NYU wouldn't squeak in, which was the point of the post entirely. Weird. Also, Emory and WUSTL are definitely stronger universities than Tufts. By a long shot. |
| Forbes ranking is better than WSJ |
That's why Emorys global USnews ranking is 73 and Notre Dames 211. Right? Notre Dame must be better. |
Another Berkeley Booster |
Yes Notredame is better for Undergraduate education. I'll check it later for graduate school if needed. |
Are you plan to immigrate to other country? |
I have no affiliation with Tufts, but I see all three as very similar schools and settings. I think Tufts is minimized because of its proximity to Harvard and MIT. |
To further clarify, the WSJ ranking has 20% on engagement which is based on a student survey. This is a big weight on a very subjective element and where the sample size of students surveyed for each school could be skewed. It's not very useful. Also, it has another 10% weight on "environment" for student and faculty diversity, again not sure how this affects the quality of education. I prefer to see hard data. Forbes uses data to calculate alumni salary, return on investment, academic success, retention rate, graduation rate, and number of American leaders and entrepreneurs (individuals in public service, Nobel prize winners, field prize, etc. although using the Forbes list of leaders is self serving). |
That's fine. USNWR has a LAC ranking that's pretty much in line with consensus ratings. |
Exactly! And, I'm from CA. |
And? USNWR weights 20% on the college’s peer assessment survey on “undergraduate academic reputation”. Also and equally subjective. Both WSJ and USNWR and all other college ranking systems are utter and complete rubbish. |
I don’t agree with you about Tufts but this did make me laugh. Signed, a former New Englander |
UNC's is 39. How do you figure that in? It's also on the Forbes list, where a number of these are not. |
This list is strong. I agree with it!! |
