Has every cheater you met been trashy?

Knew a woman in grad school who used to literally slip out of the bed in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend to go and screw her single professor at his apartment. Married the professor in this huge elaborate wedding and then dumped him for someone she met abroad while doing research.
I think she may have had some kind of mental condition that caused her to be reckless and chronically unfaithful. Maybe bipolar?
She was really wealthy and always dressed nice and had great hair. not trashy at all except for her bizarre behavior.

I think if you haven't been around it you often don't see how many people in the world actually cheat. It's rampant but there are still groups of society where large sets of people get their kicks doing other things in life than this.

Maybe some sort of low-empathy personality paired with the typical raging hormones of a younger woman.

I recently learned the depth of how much JFK cheated. It was mindbending. People think they know but the truth is just unreal. He cheated constantly on Jackie before and during their marriage. I would say like almost everyday as crazy as that sounds.

That behavior was incredibly trashy. But I still don't think of JFK as being a generally trashy person. He had some incredible strengths. He also seemed to actually love her very much. Hard to reconcile, I know.

"Trashy" is a stupid, meaningless word, and anyone who uses it automatically lowers themselves in my eyes. They also likely use the word "classy," which has the same effect. I don't think of people in these terms.

To me "trashy" is used to define behavior and some people are better at hiding their trashy side than others. Cheating is a trashy move to me so I can't help but say "yes."

OTOH, there are a few who completely fooled me (think co-worker I respected) and when I saw their names and lengthy account history when AM was hacked you could have knocked me over with a feather.

It was an area of his life he had little control over himself with. They were both good looking and I'm sure she could please him sexually. So enough with the idea that men cheat because of the women's behavior. They cheat because they need a high. An area of pleasure in their life where they don't have responsibilities towards.

Actually, these three can better be described as self promoting narcissists who pretend to care about the oppressed. None would be confused with Mother Theresa. So maybe being a cheater tells you something about the person?

How could someone with all the responsibilities of the Oval Office have time to cheat, let alone on a daily basis? I don’t condone the cheating, but I am in awe of his apparent multitasking and compartmentalization skills.

Cheaters come in all forms. The behavior may be "trashy" but it's not something you can tell just by looking at someone. Many are upstanding citizens in their communities, selfless in other aspects...including being generous financially or even saving lives through their careers (doctors/nurses/firefighters/cops/military, etc).

Usually the people that think they aren’t being cheated on or my parents have always been faithful are the ones being cheated on, as well. I think most people cheat but like someone said, that the cheaters that don’t get caught, tell no one.

I'm sure people used to get away with cheating. Like everything else our lives are becoming more and more public.

Very untrue. Society labels people based on their behavior. Do you call a bank robber an aggressive withdrawer? Or an undocumented banker?

Someone who is showing a lack of morals can certainly be called trashy, a scumbag, or other words to call them out. As a society there is a moral code, and when one breaks it there are often repercussions. Cheat with a married person, and both will be appropriately be labeled for their behavior.

I don't think so. Back in the old day when there were pagers you could buy an identical pager and switch them. So essentially you would have your cheating spouses pager, and promptly put the numbers through...however you would get those numbers first. Then after a few days switch them back. Or we simply would have a friend follow the cheater, or leave a voice activated recorder around the house, or under their car seat.

At some point cheaters are usually caught, or the other suspects which is just as bad and the relationship is doomed. Cheaters end up very lonely in most cases from what I've seen.

There's never a reason to cheat.
