Now, how do we get Chap Peterson thrown out of office? 10% to recall him right?

Funny - you had no problem when Democrats like Peterson were sponsoring legislation to force schools statewide to remain open regardless of rising cases. Now its masks - its an issue?

I absolutely had a problem. Difference is Petersen is my senator. I can actually do something about him.

I am gobsmacked by Youngkin's missteps, though. What a rank amateur who has surrounded himself by clowns.

Actually I'd say he's winning. He came out against school mask mandates within days of taking office. And now a new bill and amendment with BIPARTISAN SUPPORT is passing lightening fast in his state assembly supporting his ban on masks. Youngkin is looking prescient and proactive. Unlike someone else in a white house that is exactly...18 miles from his family farm. The Biden team could take some lessons on supporting effective and needed policies not just wishlists which get no support across the aisle.

This is what's wrong with you (and him) right here. You want to "win" because you think this is a culture war to be "won." The rest of us -- i.e., the vast majority of people in this area who voted AGAINST Youngkin in November (and it was a "vast" majority) just care about our kids. You're so obsessed with "winning." Like this is a game and you're on a team.

And this is why Petersen needs to pay a political price. He obviously worked against the wishes of his constituents. Maybe he did that since he's got a couple of years left in office and thinks we will forget. But we won't.

x1 million

Stop politicizing the pandemic FFS.

Oh please - the White House is signaling that they are getting to ease up on pandemic restrictions and Dem Givernors including New York and California are eliminating mask mandates this month. You wanted your kids in-person learning, you got it.

Because many students are now vaccinated/boosted and numbers are dropping from the most recent surges (delta/omicron).

Exactly! Republicans were stupidly fighting masks and vaccines when vax rates were still low, when hospitalizations and deaths were sky high. It didn't make sense then. But now that a lot more Americans are vaccinated, now that the hospitalizations and deaths are dropping it is safer to lessen restrictions and mandates. It's mind boggling that Republicans don't seem to understand any of that.

LOL Its not GOP school boards and states refusing to lessen restrictions and mandates. Wow. The audacity.

You mean, in the middle of a surge?

No, they didn’t do that because they aren’t dumb AF.

This notion that parents are in charge of their children's education is nauseating. They're not. We don't educate children for the good of parents. We educate them for the good of society. This entire paradigm is ridiculous and derived from the me-me-me self-centeredness of millennials. Previous generations understood what it meant to sacrifice and serve the community.

Agree. I don’t believe parents should be telling schools what they can, and cannot teach. Parents need to butt out!

He just keeps winning! Congratulations, Virginia. You did good.

+1
I am loving the rage coming from the LWNJs, however. Very entertaining.

This is the problem with the Republicans. They don’t want to serve or govern. They only want to “win” and anger their fellow Americans who take different positions.

Oh, the irony. Do you understand how many millions have different positions from you?? Or are you actually arrogant enough to think that everyone agrees with you? READ THE ROOM, indeed.

This was posted, word for word, in another thread. Is this some kind of a bot? See last post on the page.

It's some liberal who thinks his/her words are so incredibly insightful that they must be posted in multiple threads. Talk about nauseating.

Does anyone have a link or source or insight as to the immediate next steps? When will the assembly vote again? When will Youngkin sign? Everything I read has said it'll be fast, but since it's not right this second, I'm getting excited/anxious. Is there an end date in sight?

--totally vaxxed, religiously masked, still got Covid family who's really looking to ditch the masks.
