SJC is better than Potomac. But, Potomac is up there. |
| SJC, Potomac, Prep, Cathedral Schools. In order. |
Honorable mention: Landon and Holton |
| Bullis |
Bullis is below the Cathedral schools. |
| SJC. Great facilities, with Rock Creek Park as the backdrop. Very nice. |
| Basis McLean! Especially if you're into classrooms that double as echo chambers! |
That field, next to Rockville Pike, is NOT the new football field/stadium. That's a soccer field and track. The new stadium is located at the back of the property, behind the new building. |
Does Saint Albans have a golf course? |
For Sports. Their academic buildings leave a lot to be desired. |
| SJC. Beautiful. Well appointed. Well maintained. |
| Episcopal is pretty amazing. Boarding only, but the facilities are over the top. |
|
Have you been in the NCS library? Athletic center? Hearst Hall? I would rank NCS as all around tops. The academic buildings are old and historic and everything is just very aesthetically pleasing.
Potomac and STA are impressive too. |
Agree, familiar with all three and all 3 are outstanding. |

I got the sense the OP was applying in middle school for high school. It wasn’t clear.
I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Good Counsel. We have a rising 9th grade boy that has toured or is applying to all of these mentioned schools. As far as facilities, we like in order (not by our choice order) Prep (not applying) SJC (top 3 choice) Good Counsel Landon Bullis Sidwell (top 3 choice) Potomac (not applying) St Albans (not applying) Maret (top 3 choice even though worst facilities although new athletic fields coming 2023 I think) DS is a top ranked athlete that will likely play D1. We figure he can get fancy facilities in college. |
