Maret? Best…facilities??? |
| Potomac |
Prep probably has the nicest athletic facilities overall. Golf course. Pool. Indoor tennis. New football “stadium”. After that, it’s a toss up between Landon and SJC. SJC has the better built facilities like basketball gym and football stadium. But Landon has the best maintained grass fields in the area for baseball, soccer and lacrosse. Landon’s grounds crew is country club level. I’m not sure why people mention Bullis. Sure it’s a big campus but their facilities are kind of mediocre. |
I would agree with that if OP wasn't looking for middle school. Prep doesn't work. Neither does SJC. |
| Sidwell’s below grade gym with elevated indoor track and football field and outdoor track on top is probably the most ostentatious in the whole area. |
Bitter cause your kid would never get in? Potomac's new athletic facilities are incredible. Better than many colleges. |
Flint Hill? You are out of your mind. Not even in the realm of possibility. |
Sidwell’s MS green building is cool but sort of spartan. Maret’s MS is literally underground, dark and sort of murky. GDS probably wins this because their building is brand new and really cool. But it’s also combined with the LS, which isn’t that cool. Landon academic facilities need a refresh. St Albans is pretty cool in a Hogwarts sorta way. |
Didn’t apply. It’s not a big 3. |
Marriott Hall at St Albans is like 10X the GDS LS/MS. That building is an architectural marvel. |
| SJC and Potomac have the most impressive facilities of the schools I’ve seen. |
Strip Mall? The new development across the street is stunning and is about as far from a strip mall as conceptually possible. Plus, the middle school and gym are state of the art. The New Upper School should be great, though it is several years away. |
ya, I had to laugh at that as well. Great school, but the facilities are dated, though totally functional. |
This. GP has the best facility overall in the DMV |
Prep is not a middle school. Also I wouldn’t exactly be bragging about that new field they put it next to 355. The golf course is a nice touch though. |
