We have a middle school boy applying and things are starting to effect our evaluation of these schools.

Without a doubt SJC.

Agree. The new athletic addition is collegiate level. The gym is top notch, exceptional locker rooms, nutrition lab, whirlpools, 2 weight rooms, 2 basketball courts, classrooms, etc.

Nutrition lab? Do they help athletes with their personal diets?

They have academic courses geared towards nutrition for athletes to fuel your body and general overall nutrition. It’s a dual focus nutrition and strength training for overall wellness. It’s for both students and athletes.

If you are only interested in sports facilities, not academics, then you would probably be happy with what Landon or Bullis have to offer.

The best school in DC for academics and facilities is St Albans- by far

For all girls, Holton

Saint Albans shares its facilities with the cathedral school.

Very interesting since Saint Albans and SJC had the same number of 2022 national merit scholar finalists. Hilton had zero.

Market's facilities are so great they have to steal fields from public school kids.

Do you only care about athletic facilities? What about theater, art, music facilities?

Don’t be misled. Landon and Bullis have good academics. Maybe not as good as STA but your kid could do well there.

Potomac has brand new beautiful large athletic center.

But then your kid would have to attend Potomac.

Depending on the school, if basketball season isn’t cancelled due to covid, you can probably peek in the gym briefly during a basketball game.

Best Middle school building is Flint Hill in Oakton hands down. Just opened last year, nicer than college facilities. Athletic facilities is Bullis or Potomac.

Not for middle school.

I think Bullis also has fantastic gyms and other facilities.
