85% vaccine rate isn’t good enough

Actually, some people ARE living in a constant state of fear. Just yesterday, I read a post on another forum a mother of a 5 or 6 year old who has not let the child go places with her much the entire pandemic (homeschooling kindergarten), and when they do, she twice masks him. Now 2 weeks after their second shot, she is still feeling anxiety over having the child leave the house, and was seeking recs on "good masks". Now I don't see a problem with the "good masks" part but the other details sound absolutely concerning for that poor child.

Ignore his comments. Just wear a mask into whatever retail store you enter. I have been since last year, and will continue to do so for a while. At this stage, it is not even annoying. It just hangs in my car, and another by front door. As for restaurants, I got vaccinated and boostered, and have a photo of my card on my phone. If someone wants to see it, fine. It is not exactly like I do not carry my phone everywhere anyway. Folks need to learn to relax and just do it. What I have clearly leaned is that there are lots of people that I will want to avoid when a real emergency happens. Many folks can handle even these simple things.

As a PP stated, it's moving the goal posts, and it is super annoying.

Covid will never go away. At some point, we have to stop being ruled by fear, and just get on with it.

I hate wearing masks. A store clerk was trying to tell me something, and I could not understand her, especially when they have an accent (not being racist.. my sister has an accent). I find if I can read lips and hear them speak, I can understand them better. Must be tough in classrooms.

How is it moving the goal posts. We've never experienced anything like this. Things are fluid. We need to change as we get more information. What a douche you are.

You sound unhinged. No one is living in a constant state of fear. We are living in a state of uncertainty. I leave my house. I feel safe with my mask on. I don't think about covid that much. I'm boosted. I shop and do everything else. I just use precautions.

80% of people are vaxxed, and now Elrich wants to move the goal to 85% to remove mask mandate, even though the state wants to remove mask mandate at 80% vax rate.. but I sound unhinged? Ok.

If I'm in a shoulder to shoulder situation in a store, I might put a mask on, but in most stores in MoCo, they still have a 6' distance rule, especially in line. So, yhy do I need to wear a mask. Plus, a ton of people don't even wear their masks correctly, or they wear gators which is like not wearing a mask. I see people pull down their masks to talk all the time, or put it under their nose. Give me a break. It's theater to make people like you have the illusion of feeling "safe".

These vaccines help for symptoms. They don't stop voiced. We are still very cautious even vaccinated. You cannot trust others in how they behave.

-reduce the chance that you will transmit SARS-CoV-2, if infected
-reduce the chance that you will become seriously will with covid, if infected with SARS-CoV-2
-reduce the chance that you will die from covid, if infected sith SARS-CoV-2

All four of those things.

If you don't have fear of covid, you need to get your mental health checked.

Everyone hates wearing masks but if you give covid to that store clerk, she could get very sick or die and then you will help entitled people like you who have to be out shopping and dining in restaurants?

I have a healthy "fear" of covid enough to be vaxxed, but I don't constantly live in fear of it. If you do, then you need to get your head examined. I don't constantly think, "if 80% are vaxxed, I'll be more comfortable not wearing masks. " Then a few weeks later, "If 90% are vaxxed, then I"ll be more comfortable not wearing a mask".

That is living in constant fear.

If you don't fear COVID, which killed 800K in the US, and many world wide, something is wrong.

LOL I think we read the same post … that person has been unhinged since February 2020 and before with other stuff. Honestly, the anxious people are just the most out there posting on the internet but I don’t think they represent where the majority of people are in real life.

Moving the goalposts on vaccination percentages because of a variant that is less lethal makes no sense as well.

If our leaders actually made regulations based on science and concerns for public safety and not based on cynical political maneuvering, fear mongering, or to appease business interests a lot of us would take their recommendations in better faith.
