Well then it ain’t paradise. End period. |
Maybe God is a dog? Or a cat or both! That would be awesome! |
Threadjack, but I would live to hear more. Convince your cousin to do an AMA! |
Yes, people who just almost die (no visions or anything) and then have to go through extensive recovery/PT. Those people had bad NDEs. |
+1 I actually had a dream that I was in a weird gray world after 1 of my dogs passed away who I loved like a brother. He also acted like a brother! I was with my living pup and we were walking together and saw the one who passed away want us to follow him then he ran off. |
People make up comforting stories about their beloved pets and don't care or think about all the other dead animals. |
The worst take on this question I think I've ever seen was in the children's book God Needed a Puppy, where a little kid's dog dies because God killed it to take it to heaven and give it to a different kid who had recently died and wanted a puppy. Our kid got a copy and after I previewed it, I hid it. I should probably just throw it out. I have no idea what happens to animals who die, but considering the question definitely drives some really terrible theology. |
You think God could find a better way. |
I mean would you want to be greeted by strangers when you go to heaven? Or would you first want to see your beloveds? |
Heaven is crawling with beetles. |
No, some people will end up in hell. |
Hell - where the bad pets live on for eternity, screeching in agony with their evil dead human masters. |
| I believe pets have souls and they are waiting for us in heaven. Nondenominational Christian. |
But only in Heaven, right? Are good pets abandoned when their bad owners are consigned to Hell? |
| Yes (I'm Orthodox and have heard various opinions from different priests). Heaven is a new glorified earth that will be made at the last judgment. It wouldn't make sense for animals not to be there. That said, people who say "It won't be heaven if X isn't there" aren't ready for heaven. Heaven is about being with Christ and worshipping him. If you're more concerned with whether or not Fluffy the cat is there than being with Christ, that's a problem. I'd recommend reading The Great Divorce by CS Lewis. |
