Christians, do you believe that pets will be in Heaven?

Anonymous
Yes, and I’m sure my cat will still be ignoring me.

I am Catholic and for me, heaven means eternal peace and happiness. That for me involves my pets.

I hope so. I hope my DH is now with our sweet pets we loved.

GOD is DOG spelled backwards, so I guess that tells us something, or at least those of us who speak English….

Yes.

It wouldn't make sense for animals not to be there. That said, people who say "It won't be heaven if X isn't there" aren't ready for heaven. Heaven is about being with Christ and worshipping him. If you're more concerned with whether or not Fluffy the cat is there than being with Christ, that's a problem. I'd recommend reading The Great Divorce by CS Lewis.

Pretty much this.

Anglican. Don't believe our existing pets will go to heaven, but do believe our existing earth will be renewed to be our perfect home and on that perfect home there will be plenty of animals. I believe "the lion will lie down with the lamb" and all the rest from Isaiah could easily end up being literal.

Being with Christ and worshipping him? Ugh sounds like heaven is a long weekend with a cult. If that’s what it is I don’t want to go. Also seriously how much praise and worship does God need anyhow?

Raised Catholic, now an Episcopalian. Possibly the only reason I believe that there might be a heaven is because I could see my dogs again.

If you start your own religion, would you let let me know? I'd love to follow.

Funny. I believe my daughter has the soul of one of our dogs who died shortly before she was born.

I've had this book on my shelf forever, but have been afraid to read it. Should I? I don't mind crying but I don't want to be frightened or freaked out.

Have you ever had a pet? If so, it's sad that you never opened your heart to encountering the soul of your pet.
