| And what is your denomination, if there is one? |
| Adventist, taught by my parents that pets don't go to heaven. However, the Bible says animals are in heaven and they will not harm humans. Synthesizing the two, I'd assume these are new animals. |
| I’m Catholic. I think Heaven is a state of peace and joy. If animals are a part of that for you, you will experience them there. |
|
I'm Catholic, DH is Baptist.
No for the goldfish and pet mouse our kids used to have, but we both believe our dog is there, sleeping in a patch of sunshine waiting for us. |
| Not as we know them on earth. I believe our higher self remains in heaven as a part of Source (God) Energy. We dispatch parts of ourselves into different realities for the purpose of soul growth. I am spirit having a temporary human experience on this earth at this time. My dog is part of that experience. |
Thanks. Why do you think that your family's other pets aren't there? |
| Thanks for sharing, PPs. |
| CS Lewis lamented after the death of his wife that actually we aren’t promised being reunited with *any* loved one in the text of the Bible. |
I guess dogs are just different in our minds. The goldfish and mouse weren't attached to us in the same way our dog was. We were his whole world, not just a source of food. |
This is what I was taught. Society of Friends, evangelical. I don't know if we were ever taught anything about animals specifically, but, my instinct would be no. |
I’m not a Bible literalist as I am Catholic, but I recall that there are to be neither husbands nor wives in Heaven. |
| I believe they have a soul, yes. I actually think my dog has the soul of one of my relatives. |
| Descartes said animals have no souls and that therefore nothing is left of them when they die. |
| Absolutely yes! Heaven is where we will be whole and happy and I will not be happy without my babies there (human and fur). I'm Baptist/have been other denominations and not taking Bible literally, but if it is to be my happy eternal home, you can sure bet my babies will be there. |
| Did anyone here read “ The Lovely Bones”? That poor child who was murdered saw her in heaven. It made me cry. So yeah, you’ll see your dogs in heaven. |
