They still have the HRHs too. It's why their security isn't being downgraded.

The only difference is they can't/won't put it on letterhead and if they go to a private dinner they aren't introduced as 'their Royal Highness, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex'.

Instead its now, "Their Graces, Duke and Duchess of Sussex'.

Which to me isn't a bad deal to keep state-level protection, $1-$2 million annually flowing in from dad, and the ability to make your own private fortune.

By the time Charles is King they'll be richer than anyone else in that family and if he decides he needs them to step back up:

Meh- This sounds fair - they are no longer representing the queen (in direct contradiction to the statement they put out on their website)… but now they can do Disney voice overs, write on bananas and do a special with Oprah. I think for someone who has pursued fame her entire professional life (as an actress and then as a lifestyle promoter on the Tig)… Meg has gotten the best deal out of all of this. She now has fame and a platform and can go back to blogging or whatever she wants....

Harry on the other hand... has made it clear he wants privacy and normality, and I don't know how hes gotten that exactly by moving to Canada.

I literally have not read any of the 300 pages of this thread but I just stopped in to say that I am thrilled that Harry and Meghan are able to attempt to live a relatively normal life as non-royals simply because they want to.

Harry did not have any choice in whether or not he was a royal until now. Meghan did but apparently she didn't like it. It's 2020, people get to decide whether they want to be male or female, gay or straight, married or unmarried, black or white, etc. etc. etc.

Why shouldn't this couple get to decide whether they want to be considered royals and where they want to live and raise their kids?
