Agree. I'm sure Harry is sorry to lose the three military patronages, because those were meaningful to him, although I assume he still has the Invictus Games. That is a private patronage, isn't it?

Yep, Invictus is his. I don't know if they're still President and VP of the Queen's Commonwealth's Trust.

It sounds unlikely, as the statement reads that they are no longer officially representing the Queen.

Just confirmed they will.

Meghan keeps all of her patronages - they will both remain President and Vice President of Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, and Meghan of the Association of Commonwealth Universities

Harry did not have any choice in whether or not he was a royal until now. Meghan did but apparently she didn't like it. It's 2020, people get to decide whether they want to be male or female, gay or straight, married or unmarried, black or white, etc. etc. etc.

Why shouldn't this couple get to decide whether they want to be considered royals and where they want to live and raise their kids?

Yay to them!

If you have to ask, you won't understand. Like the former duchess.

Ahem people don't get to decide whether they're gay or straight or black or white.... just saying.

Most of the controversy on this thread was over whether or not the press scrutiny was unfair or not, racist or not. The observation that running away from the British press to still live a quite public life has a hypocrisy of it's own remains valid.

The couple made a choice. And life goes on. I imagine they'll settle into some kind of semi tacky Kardashian celebrity, famous for being famous hawking their names as a brand. I do wish them best of luck.

Exactly.

Yup, and repay the reno costs of Frogmore Cottage.

And the ongoing rent of 4,000 pounds per month.

Archie won’t have a British accent. Wonder where he will be educated?

They got everything they wanted. Hopefully they will no longer feel victimized and enjoy the reduced media attention.

It will be interesting to see how they are received by the UK public at these engagements.

Things will be revisited in a year as per BP's statement.

Pretty sure it'll be the same crowds they got at Canada house upon their 6-week return. The people missed them and Meghan is ALWAYS working.

Before she embarks on her new life across the Atlantic, Meghan will return to the UK to do more royal engagements before the fully break away and launch a new charitable foundation in spring.

Can't wait to see what the charitable foundation brings.

We shall see how the Brits feel about their soon-to-be ex-HRHs. They were moving TO Canada.
