I’m harassing and spewing hate? As in, me - personally? How certain are you of that accusation? |
By this logic, the 40,000 dead and 160,000 maimed give the world the right to stop sending weapons (and the Iron dome) and then Iran the right to unless fury |
How shocking to get crickets when confronted with the sheer insanity of extremist Zionists accusing others - seemingly always without a shred of actual evidence to back it up - of LITERALLY THE SAME REPUGNANT ACTIONS taken by those extremist Zionists themselves to vindictively harm the interests of those who will not bend to THEIR desires. They do the crime, then sentence others to do the time. It really is true - if you want to know where extremist Zionists have the bodies buried, just follow their accusations of others. #lightwork |
How is it a trope? It's a fact. Prominent (predominately jewish) law firms have come out and suggested that they won't hire any one who is at a rally where anyone says something that may be considered triggering to Jews. Larry Summers openly calls for the economic sanctioning (yes that is now the right word for it) of any American citizen that defies his state of elitism. He also seems to adamantly oppose any University leadership that doesn't have the right "values" (The correlation between having the right values and reading the torah is quite shocking). It's time for change. |
You have a good point that doxxing is dangerous. But I don't think that suffering consequences for your actions in public is necessarily out of the question. The posters are an awareness campaign about the hostages. What is the point in tearing them down, if not to downplay the crimes of Hamas? Most people would just walk past it. I came of age when social media was new and we were drilled and drilled about being careful what we posted online, because it could affect our future employment. They told us in college not to post pictures of ourselves plastered at frat parties, because potential employers might find it years later and pass on interviewing us. In the same vein, how you act in public spaces is out there for employers to see and judge accordingly. It might not be right or fair, but it is how it is. |
Found an article about the dentist. https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/dentist-fired-after-video-shows-her-taking-down-israeli-hostage-posters/3168391/ She was removing posters at a public shopping center, not on her own property or business. The article also points out that police had been in the process of removing the illegally-posted posters, so she really didn't need to step in and tear them down herself. |
It appears we're 100% in accord. I, too, wouldn't have removed a poster. However, I'm not willing to sacrifice that person's 1A rights to sate the bloodlust of those who attack individuals for rightfully attacking the scourge of extremist Zionism. |
Again, protesting or tearing down posters isn't my style, but we have no idea how those posters might have triggered this individual or any individuals. For example, if I was Palestinian American and had I had lived a life of family members being blown apart by Israel, I'm pretty sure that even the Star of David would be upsetting to me. Frankly, I think anger would be an acceptable emotion for even a highly adjusted human being in the face of a symbol of that family history, right? No idea of the background of this particular person, but want to make the point that context truly matters. And I don't think that in any way, shape or form should be surprising to anyone at this point. A Jewish state was created. It's clearly fighting to the bitter end to remain a Jewish state, which is incompatible with the empty argument that it's ALSO a democratic state. It's not. Full stop. Based on that progression of reality, whatever that nation does - good or bad - will reflect back on the non-Israeli Jewish people, too, or at least the ones who won't disavow anything bad done by Israel. If Israel was the beacon of light and all that's good that we've been sold on for years, non-Israeli Jews would be able to ride that wave of goodwill, too. And who would object to that? Not me. But the truth - and the truth still matters - is that Israel has not been a beacon of light, and Israel has been essentially the opposite of its gleaming promise. And I guess that's where the inflection point for non-Israeli Jews occurs - do you say "I'm unapologetically Jewish, I deserve to live in peace like everyone else, I adamantly oppose terrorism, but I also oppose a lot of what's going on in Israel right now" or do you say "Israel has done nothing wrong, it has the right to defend itself at any cost, and anyone opposed to that mantra is anti-semitic", and then expect others to accept everything as fair game under that vacuous authorization to "defend itself"? |
And your view is exactly why students are covering their faces while protesting. |
Why do you assume you know the reason she took them down? I’m the previous poster and she had two reasons for removing the poster: 1) she felt that the posters placed higher value on Israeli lives than Palestinian and was offended by that. 2) she is from the region and thought she was safe in her new country. The posters made her feel that the conflict would now spill over into the US and she and her kids would be at risk of being grouped together with Hamas. Yes, she has suffered from Trauma and her instinctive flight or flight response was to remove a poster. |
The bloodthirsty people are always so quick to dismiss what people say they mean and instead scream at everyone "Don't listen to them! I'll tell you what they REALLY mean!" Just try to cite the unanimous reporting - provided via the actual videotaped words of the attackers themselves - that the 9/11 terrorist attack was a specific response to the atrocities committed by Israel, and the U.S. government's unconditional support of Israel's campaigns of terror in Gaza and the West Bank. Your head will spin in disbelief as you're told that bin Laden also said that one time that he was upset with the KSA for this or that, too! And that THAT anomie toward the KSA is the REAL reason that 9/11 occurred - and definitely not what every single person associated with those terrorist attacks actually stated was their actual motivation. It's tiresome. Why can't Israelis just once follow-through on their empty talk and remove Netanyahu from power? Why do we have to pretend that they don't care for him, but somehow keep bumbling into propelling him into their cockpit? |
If all of that is true, it's an absolute disgrace that she faced any consequence at all. And to back up that view, just reverse the poles in the matter and let's imagine ... A Jewish American mom, new to life in the U.S., confronted after 10/7 with posters seeking to bring awareness to the Palestinian prisoners held in Israel without charge, the Palestinians maimed, killed and torn to shreds by the IDF, the decades of refugee misery for millions of indigenous people, etc. Tears down a poster out of fear of how her young children might be targeted by an emotional response to the content, as well as anger that the 10/7 victims are ignored. That's not even a great comparison because the imbalance of harm between these two groups is so insane, vastly in favor of Israelis. But you should be able to get the point - if not, it's waste of time to try to reason with you further. Are we seriously going to tolerate being told that this Jewish American mom, too, would have faced losing her job and public condemnation, doxxing, etc. for removing such posters? GTFOH. In fact, the extremist Zionist lunatics here would be lionizing that mom, and U.S. congressmen/women would be falling all over themselves to invite her to personally address Congress. Blinken and the usual band of stooges at State and Justice would be tripping over themselves to file FISA applications on patriotic AMERICANS, violating the constitutional rights of anyone who dared to even question why she was being lofted into the skies by the American political winds. This is all so F'd up. Why do we have to have one small group making everything so miserable in the world for everyone else? If you have 18 - 29 year old children, the mere idea of a military draft in the U.S. to provide human fodder for the Israeli war machine would be enough to raise your blood pressure. There are plenty of other groups that contribute to world tumult, including the Palestinians, of course. But why is this one group both so deeply enmeshed in so much of the conflict consuming the world's attention, but also absolutely "off limits" to be held accountable for their role? |
| This does not end well for Gaza. I think that was clear from about Oct 10 on. |
Did she say why she was taking them down? I haven't been able to find a statement from her about her motivations anywhere. 1. The posters don't have relativism built into them. Hamas took people from their beds and from a music festival and is holding them hostage. It's just a fact. The Palestinian people have also suffered horrific deaths; the hostage posters don't negate that fact either. 2. Feeling safe in America and fear of the conflict "spilling over into the US" ...Like Israelis and Jews literally seeing and hearing symbols of the terrorists calling for their death all over our city streets and college campuses? Pro-Palestine protesters are literally chanting "we're gonna bring the war home" at their rallies now. Hostage posters are not that. |
With the over-the-top antics of the U.S. political class catering to Jewish Americans, do you sincerely expect anyone to believe that there are genuine fears of ANYTHING approaching rampant harm to Jews in America? I'm serious. As far as I can see, the only population completely insulated from risk of harm in America are the same people you want to convince us are actually the most vulnerable? Are you not seeing the things that others see? FFS, the sitting Secretary of State literally threatened a body of judges in the ICC / ICJ over their fully justified hearing of a criminal complaint against Netanyahu! Members of the U.S. congress fall all over themselves to pledge loyalty to Israel, and won't even do the same for their constituents here in America. You sincerely think we're going to see Jews attacked en masse in the U.S. without the National Guard called out to smash skulls and settle scores? Wake up. |
