Not only do you think it’s okay to spread rumors that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted someone in high school but now you want to spread rumors that it’s standard behavior for boys at like Landon and Prep to sexually assault girls. Good grief, you are sick. And no, I’m not associated with either of those schools in any way. And I’m a moderate registered Democrat who feels like she’s lost her party.

It’s not rumors, it is allaegations. Perhaps you should actually read the article.

“Allegations” made by some anonymous person who curiously has come out of the woodwork after 30 years. And it doesn’t even sound like she is alleging something illegal. A boy tried to kiss me in high school!!!

Yep. I remember something similar happening to me at that age. I'm not about to dredge it up now, 30 yrs. later. This is beyond idiotic.

Locking her in a room, turning up the music so people outside can’t hear her protests, forcing her onto a bed and cover her mouth with his hands, isn’t trying to kiss her.

Let me ask this: had she been drinking? She said the others had been. If so, isn’t it logical to think she may be misremembering some emotional event that occurred THIRTY YEARS AGO?

To me, it is logical to conclude that it might have happened.

Yes, it MIGHT have. Anything might have happened. The anonymous accused also “might” be lying for a political purpose. So should we be basing national policy decisions based on things with zero evidence?

If she wants to make an accusation in the open with due evidence, then if she proves her allegation the remedy is impeachment of Justice Kavanaugh. She can prove her allegation at the impeachment trial. But an unproven allegation is not a reason to vote against confirmation.

"Prove her allegation"?? Sorry, no. There is zero proof that could possibly be presented. This is strictly a he said/she said, and in this case, it's pretty clear "she" has political motivations.

OMG, you're right. It COULD BE WORSE than she's remembering, and she's blocked it out of her memory to cope.

How convenient that her memory has suddenly improved, just as it looks like Kavanaugh will be confirmed! Such an amazing coincidence!
Honestly, you liberals have gone so far off the deep end, it's frightening.

Maybe you should. It sounds like you still have some open psychological wounds that haven't healed.

Anyone can have accusations against them. And, anonymous? And, a little fuzzy on the details?

This rises to Harry Reid saying that Romney did not pay his taxes. It was a lie. Later, when asked, Harry's reply was something like "well, he lost, didn't he?" Yes. Dems are now on the smear campaign because "ends justify the means."

+100
I could say that all of the liberals here on DCUM locked me in a room and wouldn't let me out until I promised to vote for Democrats. I think I will, actually. Off to write my letter and have it delivered to the Senate. Hey, this is fun!

And if the person who locked you in a room, pinned you down on a bed, played loud music to cover your screams, and held his hand over your mouth while his friend tried to take off your pants, was nominated to the Sup Ct? You'd be like, oh yeah, THAT guy once tried to rape me! Ha, funny running into him again after all this time.

Sounds like an ambiguous situation, at worst.

What is wrong with you?

Not the PP, but what is wrong with YOU? This is her account of a supposed incident that occurred 30 years ago. His account is that nothing of the sort ever happened. How on earth do you automatically believe her over him - with no proof, no evidence, no corroborating witnesses - NOTHING? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Let me ask YOU this: Do you think that framing the analysis in that way (how short was her skirt? was she drunk?) is going to endear Republicans to women, while your pussy-grabbing president is in the WH?

Let’s just let drunk high school girls decide our national policies.

Let's just let men accused of sexual assault decide our national policies. Oh yeah, that's exactly what Republicans are doing.

I hope anyone who finds this unacceptable will vote in November. We cannot get these disgusting criminals out soon enough.

I will definitely be voting in November. But not for your candidates. Never again.

A moderate would wait until the investigation is finished, when everything can be known and weighed into account, and not have an immediate knee jerk reaction one way or the other. So, not buying your self depiction. You sound disengenuous.

Or like someone who truly does not care about women's safety

Why not dispense with courts and investigations entirely? Just fire people, throw people in jail as soon as they are accused of the accusation involves sex. Better safe than sorry right?

Well - as a lawyer myself, I believe in courts and investigations. I think this should be investigated. And if there's merit to the accusation, I think that Kavanaugh should not take the seat on the Sup Ct.

Funny - as I recall, there were plenty of folks like you who thought we shouldn't even bother checking into the Roy Moore accusations. Look where that got you. I'd say Republicans can continue to count on losing women's votes if you continue to ignore accusations against your superstars.

Feel free to investigate after he is confirmed. If you wanted to investigate it before confirmation Feinstein shouldn’t have waited until the 11th hour.

Due process, folks! That's how it works for Republicans. Let the white guy take what is his due - a job for the rest of his life, deciding law and policy for the whole country - and if some pesky little sexual assault charge turns out to have merit then we can write some very angry blog posts about it.

Republicans' slogan: If you're a white man, we've got your back, bro.

I'm so proud of you! Once again, you've turned a discussion that had nothing to do with race, into a race-baiting post! I was wondering how long it would take, and you didn't disappoint. Your fixation on race is truly your hallmark.

As for the "pesky little sexual assault charge" - I'm curious how you think a 30 year old accusation will have any merit at all. It's kind of sad that you think anyone will take it seriously.

Because, god forbid, there are people , especially moderate Democrat women, out there like me who do not think it is right to accuse virtually all students at all boys schools of sexual assault and do not think it's right to make 11th hour allegations without substantiating them in any meaningful way. And, if I "truly cared about women's safety" I would believe this craziness???

Lol. If Democrats really believed the “1 in 4 college girls is raped” statistic then it would be wildly irresponsible to let their daughters attend universities. But of course they know it’s bogus.

+1
I have long thought this too.

The GOP sure takes the accusation seriously. Wonder why that is.

I think it's been so long that you have had a conversation with a moderate who may legitimately disagree with you that you can no longer recognize one. Or more likely you just think no one can legitimately disagree with you.

Preach.
