Prince Harry and Meghan in Near Catastrophic Car Chase in NYC

When I got in the cab, I would put the mask on so any pics taken would not show expression. Any surgical mask should fix the problem and everyone can relate to wearing one now especially in NYC transit.

Well, publicity is what they sell.

So where did the rest of the 2 hours go?

Anyone?

They left the Ballroom at about 10pm in their SUV. An hour later, they pulled into the 19th Precinct (1.4 miles from the Ballroom) after being unsuccessful at shaking the paps and not wanting to lead them to the friend's house where they were staying. The paps were at the Precinct and so someone thought they could outsmart the paps by having the trio get in a cab instead. But the cab got stopped at a light / behind a truck and the paps weren't outsmarted and some found them there (those on foot had easy access to them in stopped traffic). They then realized the cab wasn't going to work either so the cabbie drove them around the block and dropped them back off at the 19th Precinct. From there it seems police gave them some kind of escort or blocked the paps to let the trio get away (in their own SUV again) and they finally got to their friend's place at midnight.

Always staying at some celebrity "friend's" house, whim they barely know.

Well, sure, they can't afford a hotel.

It seems subconsciously both of them want to be in a Diana like situation. I hope they are seeing an experienced and board certified psychiatrist, not some spiritual celebrity shrink.

There is security footage but they shockingly haven’t turned it over yet. They need more time to doctor it.

You're saying there was a 2-hr high speed chase through the densest part of America that endangered multiple people and YET no one called the police, no one filmed it, no one spoke to anyone else about, it passed virtually unnoticed? How?

Exactly. This is a city that made a rat with a slice of pizza famous.

Agreed. I think Harry has legit PTSD (understandably) from his mother’s death. While being hounded by paps in Midtown would be unpleasant for anyone, I think Harry believes these are life and death situations - a la “near catastrophic” - when reality is not so dramatic.

I think a lot of ppl give them awards bc anything about H&M makes news and draws more attention to that org or award. Otherwise you would think a better use of an award would be to spotlight the work of someone doing very meaningful things for a long time and who isn't already rich and famous. It's very gross.

There were no accidents or injuries during this 2 hour debacle, so “near catastrophic” is a bit of a stretch.

Also, why let it go on for 2 hours? Seems the driver should have pulled over. This wasn’t a mob trying to kill them. It’s horribly invasive, but surely avoiding being photographed after appearing at a much-publicized public event isn’t worth anyone’s life. So stop the car. Surely someone had a phone and could call police?

+1 Exactly my thoughts when reading. Don't want to compromise your friend's house, then stay at a hotel. Pull over. Anything is better than endangering people's lives.

Nice victim blaming.

Yes, I can see that with the hotel. But, not with pulling over. It said the chase included driving on sidewalks. Prince Harry should have know it was highly dangerous given his mom’s death. Would your answer still be the same if a pedestrian was hurt or killed as a result?

If I truly wanted privacy however after a public event, I would stay at a hotel, since they are equipped at handling this.

The Royal Family is currently covering up a story like this. A woman was struck by a police escort for Sophie as they headed to some royal engagement. The woman is in a coma, the royals put out a statement offering thoughts and prayers, but it’s largely been swept under the rug by the British media. I wonder why?!

The taxi driver, Sunny Singh, said it wasn't a chase.

The taxi driver also said NYC was safe.

I think it took 2 hours total, they switched cars - went back to the police precinct etc.. honestly were being super stupid. Just let the paparazzi take pictures, it is what it is. The avoiding the paps/war on paparazzi is Harry's little medieval war and while he is right- this sort of thing makes them look ridiculous.

Because she’s half Black, and she married a white prince who was known to be a very popular and in-demand bachelor.

They’re mad.

The Prince and his wife are entertainment, period.

Y’all are mad. You know it, we all know it.

Is Jimmy Kimmel mad? How about Chris Rock? The Sussexes are the gift that keeps on giving.

What is your point? They aren’t jealous basic white women. So, no, they aren’t mad. They’re comedians.

What is your point? We are not jealous basic white women either.

My point: Basic white women are jealous because half Black Meghan married popular white prince Harry.

Keep up.

Definitely NOT jealous that she married Harry. My husband is more attractive on a variety of levels. Didn’t know about the car chase, Meghan’s gold dress, or Catherine ‘s piano playing until I saw it on DCUM. Whoever is complaining that it’s “everywhere” needs to just stop clicking. I get almost no royal coverage on my feeds, because I don’t care enough to look at it. *shrug* I see enough to feed my curiosity on DCUM.

I really like them but if this turns out to be an exaggeration and publicity plot, then that’s a shame and they will lose many fans.

It’s like a clown show with these people.

In the H&M car chase, their driver was going onto sidewalks, scattering pedestrians, driving recklessly. I don't know any details of the UK incident but the NY incident doesn't reflect well on H&M.

IMO, a "near catastrophic" incident is similar to what happened to the Fairfax County police officer a few weeks ago. This "challenging" ride around NYC seems nothing like that.

Confirmation that it was in fact 2 hours total and paps were ignoring NYPD and driving on sidewalks.

Ya’ll wont be happy until she’s dead.

It's a story from the Sussex camp. Not confirmation. If their supposedly professional "security" has "never seen anything like this", it doesn't look like they've hired someone experienced with these things. There's literally a dozen ways this could have been easily avoided.
