Technically speaking Princess Anne, Prince William, and Harry were commoners. Princess Anne still is. William and Harry ceased to be commoners when they got married and became Dukes. In England a commoner is anyone who is not a 'peer,' and you are a peer when you have a tittle. Actually come to think of it, technically speaking I believe people who have courtesy titles are still considered commoners, so that includes even Kate and Meghan.

So you can be royal and a commoner, and you can be an aristocrat and be a commoner.

When she arrived at the second meeting, the artist gifted Meghan the necklace and thanked her for bringing awareness to the indigenous tribe. BTW, the article also states that at both events, it was the staff who took those pictures and twitted the visit out. No paparazzi to be found for all the fonts claiming Meghan called the paparazzi to follow her around.
