It’s a word that one sad person on DCUM recently learned and has to use over and over so she won’t forget it. You don’t have toddlers at home? Same concept. All animals are doggie until they learn kitty and bird. Anyone who doesn’t hate MM is a MM stan until PP learns more words to express herself. |
LOL that makes sense now. Thanks. |
Cute! |
The product placement has begun
https://people.com/royals/meghan-markles-whale-tail-necklace-from-her-first-charity-visit-in-canada-has-symbolic-meaning/amp/?xid=amprecirc1 Same deal as she had with Jennifer Meyer but does not have to do it under the table anymore. |
Her mom visited over Christmas. Unclear if she’s there now, but it’s satisfying to see refute all those posters who claim Meghan and Doria have a rift and Doria was shut out of Archie’s first Christmas. |
She was the daughter of an earl. She was Lady Diana Spencer, an aristocrat not a commoner, regardless of being a kindergarten teacher. One or more of you keeps trying to apply definitions of class in the U.S. to England. It doesn't work. |
Lovely. /s |

Well, this was self evident. She had many, many faux pas during 2019. I'm sure that most mature people would have taken lessons from some of the earlier controversies and tried to behave differently. Like after people freaked out about you not releasing any information on the hospital where your child was born, you decide to keep the details of his Christening secret???? She just stubbornly doubled down. All of the Royals have had negative coverage. Most of them probably try to avoid it, so comparing Kate in her 18th year of being affiliated with the RF vs. Meghan in her 3rd year isn't realistic. I will grant you though that lots of us admire the tradition of the Royal Family. Just the idea of a divorced, American actress as a member of the RF caused skepticism. In order to triumph over that, she needed to show grace and dignity before coming in to shake things up. If she wanted to modernize the institution, she needed to get people on her side first. |

Well they are not handing out private school educations to children of middle class families just because, are they. If you are British (I'm not sure if that's you but there was a poster who said they were British earlier), you will know that even though private schools educate something like 5% of British children, something like 65% of leadership positions in public service and the private sector are taken by their graduates. That's why elite private schools are key; and they are also not really accessible to middleclass families, much less with multiple kids. The kind of schooling the Middleton children received places them in the UMC category. It doesn't matter what their family roots were; the way they managed their newly built (and not so newly, for her father) wealth drove upward mobility for their children. So no, the Middletons are not middle class. Not upper class, certainly, but definitely UMC. |

Has this been posted here yet? An interesting analysis of the constant bickering evident in this thread.
