Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

They are doubling down criticizing the judge, jurors, social media while never admitting their own mistakes and AH's issues with credibility. How can JD move on if AH's team is still attacking him? I think JD's monetary award is the best way to keep her from causing more troubles. Maybe they can broker a deal where she has to move on (no appeal) if he doesn't seek to collect the debt?

If I had lost 6 weeks of my life to serve as a juror for that circus of a trial, followed all of the instructions and refrained from looking at social media and discussing the case and then had the counsel for the losing side insinuate that I'd broken the rules I would be beyond FURIOUS. Not a good look, Elaine.

I do not think they had to "break the rules" to hear something. There are TV feeds at train stations, restaurants, grocery lines, airports, waiting rooms, etc. There are radio feeds and conversations in public spaces. You would not have had to look anything up or actually engage in a conversation to
hear things about this trial. That is what I think EB was referring to. As a juror, would you stick your fingers in your ears at work or at a bus stop if people were talking? Maybe you could wear ear buds ever day....

DCUM and me intentionally seeking out Emily D Baker on YouTube are literally the only places I’ve heard about this in the last two months. Not everyone in the works actually cares about these kinds of things and these jurors were presumably chosen for their intense apathy to pop culture.

Maybe if Elaine’s OWN CLIENT on the stand hadn’t said “look me up!”to the jurors in just one of many improper moments for the defense, she’d have a leg to stand on.

Maybe if the defense hadn’t introduced the whole Justice for Johnny Depp hashtag into trial THEMSELVES, she’d have a leg to stand on.

As it is, they are laughable. Just laughable.

But I also think that the right thing for Johnny to do now is to make sure that she doesn’t have to pay him that money.

He’s won and gotten what he said he wanted: his “life back.” He doesn’t need the money, and she’s clearly a very sick woman with some severe mental health issues. She can’t pay, and she isn’t likely to get another movie role that will allow her to pay. Her mental health issues (BPD) mean that, as was shown in the trial, she can’t keep friends and is largely alone with her illness. And she has a baby.

I think the only right think for Johnny to do now is to ensure she doesn’t have to pay, urge his fans to leave her alone, and move on with his life and career.

I will be very disappointed in him if that doesn’t happen.

there are a number of very serious issues for appeal. The judge treated this like a criminal trial and excluded significant evidence. The instruction on retweeting was wrong.

So yes he should agree not to seek the money in exchange for her dropping appeal. We all have had enough.

This was the best thing on tv all year. I want a season 2. Hope she appeals.

I don't listen to any radio or watch any TV (besides what my child watches), and I wouldn't know anything except for a few memes I saw posted by people I know on FB. I sought out all the info I know about the trial, and it was all stuff I read (didn't watch).

He didn’t need to pursue this trial to “get his life back” or whatever that means. The verdict is wrong regardless of whether she lied. He’s vindictive and should not work in major films again.

Sure, as soon as she stops doubling down on her story.

He should work in any major film as pong as people want to cast him and watch him. Luckily, you don’t have any saying.

Either do you. Considering Disney released him from pirates without knowledge of the op-ed, major studios are not interested in an alcoholic, drug addicted man. Add on his abusive behavior and they are right to steer clear.

He'll be back in movies. He's very much in demand now. He's riding a popularity wave.
