LAMB closing its existing campuses and consolidating to one campus

Yes and no. They can't execute any kind of binding document without the charter board approval. And the charter board wants to know that they've discussed with the parent community.

The sense of entitlement kills me where a few people decided that since they live in the NE and bought property there they can now force the school to stay there or bus their kids because it's convenient to them but yes let's keep saying that this outrage is for the sake of diversity and sense of place in the community. Give me a break, LAMB can relocate to wherever they want and is your choice as a parent to follow them or find something else.

Spare me your venom. We had no idea summer camp cost money. There are many low cost options for summer camp in DC if your income qualifies, and summer camp is reduced for farm kids.

Buses will happen. You better like the feeling of that boot on your neck because they WILL happen.

LOL Jajajaja I think that the one who is spitting the venom is you. Poster makes good points, why no comment on diversity test scores and camp? What are farm kids? If the buses WILL happen as you say then why are you so worked up? You get your pretty bus and we get our beautiful campus in Ward 4, everyone happy right?

Actually you all seem to be worked up.

I would be if I were you. Enjoy the zoning board.

So tired of the threats and the enraged language. If the buses will happen and the board has committed to it as you say then that is the end of the story, why are you so angry? The school was always based in Ward 4, SD was always a rented building with a lease expiring in 2020, eventually your kids were going to end up in Ward 4 right? I don't get the anger and the threats about letters, testimony, zoning board, boot on your neck, etc, etc. I don't care about the bus or the move, I make the choice to send my kid to LAMB for now and will go to wherever they go. That is my choice, if your choice is to get a bus system implemented that is great but please engage in respectful discussions instead of nasty threats. If you are so angry would you mind channeling that anger towards ensuring that the victims of the sexual predator and the ones responsible for covering up the rumors and allegations are punished?

You mean Cristina and the Board?

I don't see how they're going to avoid paying for shuttles. They seemed to commit to them at the meeting, and I think it will happen.

Were you at the meeting? Because that didn't happen. And they should not fund a shuttle just because there is an over eager Ward 6 weirdo that wants everyone to forget Kingsbury is closer than WR so she doesn't have to parent.

That doesn't even make sense. And I'm pretty sure I know exactly who you are, and you should really stop being such a hateful person.

That's because I did it on my phone. Apologies. Meant "so she doesn't have to drive like every other parent". The drive-other were deleted. Busses would be terrific. Let's just take a breath and work on one thing at a time.

Whoa ... this board is out of control, and has gotten really ugly. It's a little disturbing how nasty people can be behind the veil of anonymity. Are we forgetting our kids go to school together?!?!

FWIW I never intended to send my DC to Walter Reed. My plan was always to stay at SD and leave before having to venture out to NW. Other parents may have planned similarly.

Also anyone could see WR was just too small and it would ensure that lamb would have to lease at South Dakota. i don't believe the Kingsbury move will happen though. It will be a Walter Reed situation where we are told it's happening and the administration messes it up.

Let's stop personally attacking people brave enough to stand up and take a position on something.

WR was never intended to be for the whole school and I have never heard the administration indicated it was supposed to be. What was the WR "situation" that you are referring to?

It was intended to be the final home of lamb. But in the end lamb got such a small part, there was no way that the whole school would fit there. WR and Missouri aren't enough to contain the whole school. So that, combined with the lease of South Dakota is a reasonable assumption that it would stay in South Dakota.

And I agree wjth the other poster that we would have left when they would have tried to push us over th WR.

All upper elementary will now be at Walter Reed. So that is only option at 4th.

Actually it was always to be the second LAMB campus. They never intended to give MO Ave. up.

But when they decided they needed to grow instead of WL siblings of current students (a scenario that came close to happening several years ago) they set themselves on a path to outgrow MO + WR.

The real problem here is DCPS. If DCPS could allocate sufficient education funds and provide a quality bilingual education, then residents wouldn't have to run all over town chasing quality charter schools. If Lamb can do it whey can't DCPS. Look at Marie Reed, they are DCPS and doing it. If we lived in a society that valued education as a priority this wouldn't be happening. Our letter writing campaigns should be directed towards the Mayor and DC Council to make this happen.

Yes let's blame mismanagement by LAMB's administration on DCPS.

LAMB is a ward 4 school with headquarters on Missouri Avenue.

The entitlement to demand they be anything else or make up for the shortcomings of the entire DCPS structure is staggering.
