Hallucinating much? Come back and report what you actually saw. And if in fact the delivery person has taken a liking to back door, rather than the much more convenient front door. Please be more creative with your next story. |

[quote=Anonymous]The banks in McLean have "normalized" hold-ups with the use of deadly weapons.
Can anyone please pull up the stats on all the McLean bank robberies in the last 15 years or so? And all other McLean crime at local businesses, including the few bars in town? Some actual facts here would be handy, no? There's many MANY over the last 10 years, which you would know if you lived here. They are all done by masked men (and once a woman) who have stolend guns and pick one of the banks nearest a direct route to the Beltway. The further down south and interior the bank is McLean, the less likely it will be hit. The thieves jump on the Betlway and count on confusion between VA, McLean, Maryland police enforcement units to get away over the bridge into Maryland. We were burgled during the day and my DH confronted the man with a mask and gun in our bedroom. He was searching for quick cash or items to turn into cash for an Oxycontin fix. Many of these thieves from from Maryland and even as far away as New York, according to the police. The come over the state line, find a house or bank, rob it, and then zip back over the state line. Everyone in McLean knows this so no tabulations need be done. Call the McLean police if you really need numbers. This is why we switched banks and also why we conceal carry and now have firearms and a dog in our house. |
The robberies are dangerous because of... Wait for it... The guns! Of course. It is the guns. It is always the guns. |
[/b] Totally absurd. It's not NEXT to the school, it's around the corner from the school, near the 7-11s where the high school kids get cigarettes and wine and across the street and down the street from the ABC store next to the Giant and the gas stations where the kids buy booze and cigarettes. Get it? The cigarettes and booze do far more damage to your kids as do the violent movies and games you let them watch. And the gun shop was located across FROM THE POST OFFICE where all of you and your kiddies went for years. 100 feet across from the Post Office and nary a wisp of controversy. And 60 feet from Wok 'n Roll and less than 120 feet from the medical buildings where you take your kids for tutoring and therapy. Now they enlarge - with a very modest sign - and the libs go crazy just because they can - because they think that to be part of the liberal club they have to be anti-gun. They can't explain why. And they can't take any legal action. But because outside liberals can't think for themselves and have to follow the herd, they scream "no guns". What damage has that business ever been responsible for? Why would your elementary kids even know there is a gun store there unless you tell them? And OMG what might they do? Walk inside? Sure, the the business is going to sell to them. They have to clear all purchases with the ATF and register the owner. That means a license. What elementary school kid is going to walk in there with a fake license and even try? And what responsible gun shop would sell? They would lose their license. However, if your kids want to get guns off the internet while you are not watching them, than that's another story. Crimes are caused by criminals with stolen or black market guns. They don't use registered guns bought at a little McLean shop cleared through the ATF. We use them for shooting clays, target practice, Boy scout riflery merit badges, marksmanship and god forbid, self-protection, if needed. McLean is soundly behind the store, all the way. Virginia is an open carry state. McLean is in VA. If you don't like that, then please move. And if you don't live in McLean, please shut up. We like things the way they are. |
and where do those guns come from that are used in those robberies? Stolen or underground or black market. And then the thieves escape to Maryland. They aren't buying hobby guns at the McLean Gun shop and registering themselves with the ATF |

Looks like you can see almost into the Nova Gun Store windows from the pediatric dentist office in the red building. Nice!! |

McLean resident here.
I would rather have a homeless shelter there. I own a gun. I also have kids in the school. |
+ 1. The anti-gun arguments being used on this post are beyond absurd. |
| If you stand on the school border, you are looking at the BACK SIDE of the shop. |
I will bake cookies with the McLean Moms. |
So why are you posting? What are you going to do about the situation? Nothing right? And you are not going to advertise the fact to your elementary-aged kid that there's a gun store within walking distance (not that anyone in McLean walks), right?. That's because eveyrone in McLean respects each other's privacy and we want the freedom to shop at the gun store. We are in agreement. There is no legal argument for moving it. Foust and his ninnies should give up. The more they fuss, the more the Streisand effect is going to occur. I bet you didn't even know the gun shop moved before this thread, did you? And now you will shop there. Unless you buy ammo thru the mail as most of us do. |

and your point is exactly what? The kiddos can also walk to the 7-11s and gas stations and ABC store and Giant and Safeway and try to buy wine, booze and cigarettes. You really think an elementary school kid is going to try and purchase a handgun by walking in to that store? |
You don't live in McLean. McLean moms don't have time to bake cookies. |
