What SHOULD Dems do?

Anonymous
Upper middle class striver Dems are followers of a new narcissistic religion. They believe in their own intellectual and moral superiority over all other Americans, past and present. As such, an election loss is an outrage. It feels to them like the desecration of their temple. So Democrats struggle to strategize for future elections in 2026 and 2028. And they can’t imagine dropping unpopular policies. Their focus is narcissistic rage against the ego injury dealt to them in 2024 by the voting public. Dems want the voters to admit that they were WRONG not to want Kamala Harris to lead them. Or they want the voters to suffer deeply in an economic collapse.

This website is a good view into the political thinking of upper middle class Dems of DC. And there is VERY little talk of policy changes or new candidates. Almost all the talk is about how Democratic policies are RIGHT and voters are stupid

And yet it was you guys who stormed the Capitol when you lost a fair election. Don’t lecture us about “narcissistic rage” when that’s your only reason for being.

+1

the moment that killed Kamala was when asked what she would do differently than Biden and she said "nothing comes to mind." Not only was that suicide, she sounded like a dumb teenager called on in class with no answer. why didn't she prepare for that question?

She was put in by the bipartisan donor bigwigs as the designated loser. Which is why the rage from useful idiot Dems is funny. The people they worship made a decision above the dcurbanmom pay grade, and clueless Dems are MAD the planned fail candidate didn’t win. The whole thing is hilarious! “We’re MAD that voters don’t illegal immigration and trans athletes!” LOL. Dems were given a bad candidate AND a deliberately bad policy platform. And they STILL fell in love with it and believed it was a sign of their superior intelligence and morality. Too funny.

I’m not lecturing. I’m not MAGA nor am I even Republican. I’m just noticing that Dems are VERY focused on “the insult” of 2024, and not at all focused on possible changes to help the party win in 2026 and 2028.

Pretty much. The consensus seems to be that the best course of action is to explain to voters even more that they are wrong and Democrats are always right in all things.

Can any Democrat articulate a 2028 candidate that is electable in a national election, and a 2028 message that is more substantive and original than "anything but Trump"? I bet you can't.

So tiresome. Dozens of posts listing viable candidates, and most Democratic positions are moderate and popular (until maligned by Fox News). You’re the ones with the headache now, because Don’s poll numbers are dropping like a rock and the Administration has ZERO to show for its first 100 days other than a looming, self-inflicted recession. Want to know a winning Democratic messsge? How about basic economic competence.

Just as I predicted, all you've got are attacks on Trump.

can any Dem out there name one good candidate, and one positive message of your own, beyond just sarcastic attacks on Trump like "basic economic competence"? I bet you can't.

NP but that wasnt sarcasm, sadly.

Strike three. it's obvious nobody can answer the question, which I knew all along, so I will stop asking.

you people are so obsessed and deranged over Trump that you can't even think clearly. you don't have a candidate or an original, defensible idea of your own. Hatred of Trump, standing alone, is not enough to win a national election (just ask Kamala), and it will be much harder in 2028, when Trump won't even be running. best of luck!

pp here. Strike all you want. The purpose of this thread was to focus attention on what Dems can do —instead of instigating more of what you’re complaining about.

Many posters that are Ds have agreed that Trump hate =\= votes. Moving the needle past that point is proving to be difficult.

There is an entirely different thread asking about names in the party and it doesnt look good. Try engaging there if you want to talk about potential Dem candidates.

Dems are living in la la land. “We are good! Trump is bad!”
“Okay fine, we’ll give you the Presidency—just name your candidate.”
“Oh, well, uh, we’re just kind of hoping a new Democratic candidate will emerge at some point…”

The person who wrote what you are responding to is obviously not a MAGA, but you are so blinded by your religious fundamentalist views that you cannot see that.

lol. Are you actually admit that “religious fundamentalist views” are based in narcissistic rage?
If not, where in that short sentence that you are responding to did you get “blinded by…religious fundamentalist views”? DP

Dems should take a survey of voters. “Do you like us?” And really listen to the results

Dr. Admiral Rachel (nee Richard) Levine really became a mascot for the Democratic Party. She represented Covid, gender affirming care for trans kids, affirmative action, representation, history, and more. But somehow she came off as slightly ridiculous. Net net, she probably didn’t help Democrats seem totally serious.

Basic leadership. The leader should organize a plan. Skip the protests. Nobody cares about protests. They just make the protestors look crazy. See BLM for an example.

Well, the riots probably didn't help.
