There IS a clear and unequivocal dual
loyalty conflict with some Jewish Americans. If you can’t tell that their loyalty to Israel goes far beyond your other neighbor’s loyalty to Italy or Germany or Argentina or Taiwan or wherever, that’s on you. But it’s not anti-semitic of others to point out the obvious.

All of that said, I’m relieved that Shapiro wasn’t selected. I don’t think he’s suitable for federal office in an elected or appointed capacity.

We do the same thing to Catholics running for office - questioning whether or not they'll defer to the Pope. The unacceptable part is that we do this to people.
