But I am both worried and sad that we live in an America that makes having a Jewish running mate a political liability. SMDH

Blame Netanyahu for that. He has single-handedly made people see Jews in a different light

Man, how OLD is Netanyahu that he is responsible for centuries-old dual loyalty tropes and antisemitism?

???

They have all posted.

Pete's is especially nice, very genuine.

+1, this is exactly how I feel!

I am so so so excited about this ticket and our potential to win the race and save our country.

This ticket is exactly what the country needs right now and I am so proud of Kamala. She made the right decision.

#HarrisWalz2024!!!

Walz is pretty funny.

Governor Walz is a great choice. Voters will now have a clear choice between the Democratic and Republican tickets for the direction in which they want the US to go. No need to wonder.

But she would have lost Michigan in return as so so many Muslim voters there pissed at Biden for Gaza response….

Shapiro would have caused party infighting which is sad to see a Jewish politician as controversial…

I don’t think Jewish politicians are controversial. I think politicians who behaved the was he has specifically (writing negatively about Palestinians, not responding to Islamophobia and crimes against Muslims in PA, and yes volunteering for the IDF in whatever capacity) are controversial.

This. If even one-quarter of your loyalty is to Israel and not to the United States, you should not be running for vice president or president of the USA.

It’s baffling and frankly pathetic that we have to tiptoe around an issue that is so obviously unacceptable. I don’t want anyone in elected office or in any federal position that gets within 100 yards of foreign policy that is even 1% loyal to a foreign government.

It’s bizarre to try to normalize loyalty at any level to a foreign state.

Is Biden making decisions with Ireland in mind? Trump with Scotland in mind? Of course not.

There IS a clear and unequivocal dual
loyalty conflict with some Jewish Americans. If you can’t tell that their loyalty to Israel goes far beyond your other neighbor’s loyalty to Italy or Germany or Argentina or Taiwan or wherever, that’s on you. But it’s not anti-semitic of others to point out the obvious.

All of that said, I’m relieved that Shapiro wasn’t selected. I don’t think he’s suitable for federal office in an elected or appointed capacity.

+100. Will there be a debate between the VP contenders? I think Bowman is not a very good communicator. He just seems fake.

Now what?

I'd say that's game, set, match.

Could oyu even imagine what trump would do if a bunch of kids tried to hug him?

Trump looks as old as Walz but is almost 20 years older. This guy is a white bread cornball who looks like he puts mayonnaise on everything. Give me Biden any day over Walz.

Tim Walz was picked. He's pro-Israel too. Time to focus on that if you don't like it.

Many swing state voters see MN as a very left leaning state politically and this will reinforce the idea that Harris is too far left for America.

Nope- people in MI, WI, IL, think of Minnesota as the clearly superior run state, they think IL is the badly run progressive/democratic party run disaster. I live in one of these states.

I'm from IL and have lots of family in WI. We all think Minnesotans are just the nicest, don'tchya know? Every few years, DH and I seriously consider moving there, but then we remember that it's negative a billion degrees in the winter and abandon the idea. But, still, lots of love for Minnesota.

I have inlaws in Minnesota too, and we definitely joke that some Canada-nice seems to have made it's way across the border into Minnesota.
